Once home I walked into my house to find my parents sitting on the couch watching TV, but the volume was down low.... Which means they were waiting for me. I threw my keys onto the counter, took off my shoes, and continued to walk into the living room. I sat down on the chair waiting for them to speak to me. My mom smiled at me and my dad did the same. Okay.... So I wasn't in trouble. Whats going on?
Before I could ask my mom spoke.
"Your brother is coming over tomorrow for Sunday dinner."
Okay, not what I thought. Whats so wrong with him coming home? Shouldn't they be joyed?
"Okay? So whats wrong with that?" I asked after several seconds passed.
"Hes bringing her family." My dad spoke up.
Oh No! My brothers fiances parents were crazy. We had them over once for a Sunday dinner and they drank all the beer and wine. Plus they were totally stuck up. Don't get me wrong, I love my brothers fiance. She was beautiful and nice. She even has a brother, that I have never meet myself. But my brother says hes my age and actually goes to my school. I never got a name though. I looked at my parents, who were very stressed out, and knew I had to help.
"Okay! That's fine! We can make this work!" I said jumping up from my seat in enthusiasm.
"Will you help cook?" My mom asked smiling at me.
"Of course." I said "How many people are coming?"
"Her parents, brother, her older sister and her older sisters husband." My dad said getting up from the couch.
"So 10 people! That's a lot to cook for." I said sighing to myself.
"We know! But like you said, it'll all be fine!"
After we were done discussing the food situation and how we would fit everyone at the table, I went up to my room and fell asleep. Tomorrow was going be a very long day.
The next day I woke up at 9. I hopped out of my bed and rushed to get ready. My brother and his fiances family would be over at 5. I needed to clean the house and get dinner done. This I had to do all by myself because my mom and dad were at grams house getting her bigger table, who knew how long that would take. My gram is a bigger talker.
Once done getting showered and dressed, I went downstairs and let doc out of his cage. I looked down at him and smiled.
"Lets do this! " I said bending down and petting his head. I walked into my living room and plugged in my iPod, letting random music blare from the speakers of the stereo system.
By the time I was finished scrubbing the house it was 12. My parents were still not home and that was going to be a big issue. I walked into the sparkling kitchen and started to preheat the oven. We decided that we would serve chicken, salad, corn, mash potatoes, pasta, and for desert chocolate cake. The only thing was.... I'm not a great cook. I sat down at the table and put on my thinking cap. I could always pull up how to make things on Google. I could also call Morgan... but even she sucked at cooking. This is why I'm taking stinking cooking classes! Exactly after I thought that I had a great idea! I rushed upstairs with Doc in tow. I went to my purse and grabbed a little piece of paper out of it. I flipped it open and set my plan into motion.
Ten minutes later he was at my door.
"I'm soooooooo glad you could help me." I said grabbing Adam by his arm.
"Anything for you." He said smirking at me.
"I'm such a sucky cook." I started to lead him into the kitchen.
