"God hath given you one face, and you make yourself another."
William ShakespeareIt had finally come time for winter break, and with most of the third years having completed their entrance exams, the parties were only expected to be that much more exciting.
At least, that is what Akaashi had been told by Mei, and Jun, and even Sho.
Although he couldn't care less, he at least found it interesting to sit at Mei's desk and watch as she sat cross-legged on her bed, using her feet to hold up a hand-held mirror as she plucked a few stray hairs from her eyebrows.
"Why do you not just pluck them in front of the bathroom mirror?"
She faltered in her plucking, the mirror between her feet shifting until it fell smack against the blanket on her bed.
"Akaashi! You messed me up." She whined momentarily, moving to lie on her stomach with the mirror leaned against the headboard instead. "And besides, if I did it in the bathroom would you come in and sit with me?"
"If you asked me to."
"Really? Wow, you're becoming a bit of a sap."
Akaashi only blinked slowly in response, feeling his mouth open and close as he thought of whether to respond or not.
Mei turned around to look at him, giving him a small smile before tossing her tweezers to her bedside table and rubbing her hands together.
"Alright. How do I look?"
Akaashi narrowed his eyes back at her, scanning her face before shrugging nonchalantly.
"Same as always."
Mei gasped dramatically, placing a hand to her chest before falling back on her bed. "Akaashi, you seriously just saw me do my brows. You could at least comment on them."
"You look good."
Mei lifted her head in shock, holding her upper body up with her elbows to watch as Akaashi left the desk chair and moved to sit at the end of the bed.
"Although your roots are beginning to grow out, and the cold is drying out your skin."
"Excuse me?" Mei choked out, immediately sitting up to send a light smack to Akaashi's back. "Turn around and say that to my face then."
Doing as told, Akaashi turned until he sat across from Mei, "your roots are growing–"
"Stop! I was gonna do my roots before school starts back up," Mei rushed out while using her hands to cover the small black line at her scalp.
Akaashi let a breath of air leave his nose at her embarrassment, taking hold of her hands and moving them from her hair until they were pinned to the bed.
"I would like to see you with black hair though."
"Trust me, you don't. I look creepy with black hair. I'd show you pictures from middle school, or our first year, but you'd avoid me after."
"Avoid you?" Akaashi asked as he leaned in toward Mei, smiling just slightly as their faces only had a few centimeters between them. "But haven't I avoided you since the beginning?"
