Chapter 119

1.4K 62 12

May 22 // 5:43 a.m.

I'm laying in bed, looking up at the ceiling because I can't sleep. My mind is racing and I've been thinking about everything that's popped into my head. I can't talk to anyone because it's...5:43 in the morning. Blake is sound asleep and I would be a jerk to wake him up, right?

Oh well.

He didn't wake up.

"Blake," I say a little louder.

"Yes babe?"

"How do guys lay on their stomachs?" I asked, still staring at the ceiling, "like, don't your dicks get in the way?"

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him raise his head to look at me.

"Did you really just wake me up to ask me that?" he asked, and he was clearly agitated.

Shouldn't have woke him up.

"Well I can't sleep and I was just thinking about stuff," I said, instantly feeling guilty, "sorry."

I started to turn oover, but he stopped me. I turned to my left and saw a guilty, yet sleepy, Blake.

"Don't apologize. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that," he said, stroking my hair.

"It's okay. I know you're tired. I shouldn't have woke you up over something stupid," I said looking down.

He lifted my chin so I was looking him in the face, "don't worry about it. And to answer your question, it doesn't get in the way."

I giggled and he kissed me before he drifted back to sleep.

seven hours later..

I was in the kitchen, making lunch for KJ & Ford, when I felt something running down my leg.

Did I just pee myself?!

I looked down at the floor and realized my water broke. I put my back against the refrigerator and slid down to the floor.

The boys ran over to me and they were crying so hard.

Blake & DJ are at practice, Monique & Jordan are at the studio, Deshawn is at work and my mom & Gail are out, so it would take them forever to get to the house. I figured I might as well call 911 but before I could, I had to calm the boys down.

"Look, boys, look. I'm fine, see. I need y'all to be big boys for me; can y'all do that?" I asked them, ignoring the pain.

They both nodded.

"Good. Now Ford, can you get my phone?"

He handed me my phone and as soon as I unlocked it, Brynn called.

"Oh my God, Brynn! Where are you?!"

BC: around the corner. I forgot to leave Ford's blanket. what's wrong?

"My water broke!"

BC: oh my god! okay, I'm outside!

I hung up and waited for her to walk in. She rushed in the kitchen and helped me off the floor. She helped me out to her car, got the boys and sped to the hospital.

"So when is Briana due?" Matt asked as we sat around on the bleachers.

"The twenty-fifth."

"Are you ready?" Chris asked.

"Yeah. I'm ready for my little girl to get here," I said smiling mentally.

I decided to check my phone and I had six missed calls from Bri and nine from Brynn. After unlocking my phone, Brynn called me again.

BC: finally! where are you?!?!

"The practice facility. Why?! What's wrong?!?!"

BC: you need to get to the hospital. Briana's in labor!

"Alright! I'm on my way!"

I shoved my phone in my pocket and quickly got up and made my way to the door.

"Blake, what's goin' on man?" Chris asked.

"I gotta go. Bri's in labor!"

I left in a hurry without hearing what any of them had to say. I rushed to the hospital, hoping she hadn't already given birth.

3:20 p.m.

I am miserable. I'm only six centimeters dilated and these contractions are a bitch! The worst part? Blake's not here yet.

After an hour of staring at these white walls in agony, Brynn came in with the boys.

"I just got off the phone with Blake and he should be on his way," she said.

"Thank God."

"Bweedy. Where dah baby?" Ford asked, looking at my stomach with his little eyebrows furrowed.

"She's still in my tummy," I replied.

"Why won't she come out?"

"I don't know. I think she's waiting on your daddy."

"We're gonna go back out and wait for Blake," Brynn said.

Twenty five minutes later, Blake burst through the door and I've never been more happy to see him.

"Bri, baby, I'm so sorry it took so long for me to get here," he rambled.

"Blake, I don't even care. I'm just glad that you're here now."

Dr. Samuels came in and I was hoping she had good news for me.

"How are you doing, Briana?" she asked.

"I'm not gonna lie to you, Linda. I feel and probably look like shit. Why doesn't she wanna come out?!"

I threw my head back on the pillow and groaned.

"Well let's see how far along you are."

She checked to see how far along I am and she smiled at me, but I couldn't tell if it was a sympathetic smile or not.

"You're in luck," she said, "it's time to start pushing."

I was glad that it was time, but now all of sudden I'm scared.

"Wait! Blake, I can't do this! I'm scared. Can you do it for me?" I asked, clinging to his arm.

I was hysterical, so I didn't really know what I was saying.

He chuckled and stroked my hair, "Bri, you can do this. We're finally gonna meet our baby girl."

I smiled a little and he kissed me before Dr. Samuels and another nurse came back.

"Are you ready?" she asked.

"Alright Briana, I need you to push for me."

Jesus take the wheel.

I started pushing until I couldn't push anymore. This went on for a while until I heard the cries of my baby girl.

She's here.
