Chapter 9

"Outside where? The park?" I laughed a little to myself

"Open the door Kay" I hung up and hoped out the car and Kay and Mya ran to me as Chay ran to August.

"Hi babies" I said hugging and kissing each one of them when we got inside Kay started informing me they were going to a sleep over and she and Mya wanted me to help them pack. They pulled me in the direction of there room but I stopped them because I had to say hi to miss Shelia.

"Hii hun" she said hugging me dead tight I smiled it felt so good being in her arms "How you holding up?" she aasked on a serious level

"Good thanks to your son" I said smiling at August who was pretending to be on his phone just to easedrop she smiled.

"He's a really good young man"

"Yeah he is" He looked up and smiled at me but it looked fake as hell. I would ask him his problem later though

"You hungry?"

"The girls want me to help them pack and I really need to talk to Chay about something"

"Oh well ok come in here when your done imma talk to my baby he look mad" she said whispering the last part I laughed 

"I know I was going to ask him later about it"

"What happened?"

"I dont know I mean I woke up to him kissing me and everything seemed ok"

"Mmm I'll find out"

"I bet you will" I said laughing and heading to the girls room.

"So how long is this sleep over?" I asked Kay as I stood over to empty suitcases.

"Two days"

"Ya'll staying at somone house for two days?"

"Yes" they both confirmed

"Ok well ya'll both need two sets of pajamas, and do ya'll still wet the bed?"

"Eww no!" They both said in unison

"Ok well pack like three pairs of panties each" They did as I said and in no time their suitcases were packed

"Where is this sleep over?"

"Our cousin Jayla house" I nodded

"Why ya'll need suicases doe ya'll ain't got no book bags?"

"We do but Uncle August put his clothes in suitcases so we do too" I smiled 

"Alright go sit ya'll suitcases by the door and head in the kitchen ya maw maw's cooking breakfast" They nodded and I headed to Chay's room but not before getting stopped by Jamal, one of August brothers

"'Yes?"

"wassup wicha gurl"

"Nothing much"

"You like my lil brudda?"

"Um-"

"You ain'y godda lie ta meh"

"No Jamal I dont like your brother and he dont like me now excuse me"

"Wait if ya'll dont like each odda wassup wit meh n ya"

"Jamal you have a girlfriend a pretty one a that" with that I walked off into Chay's room I heard him call out if he didnt would I like him then I just shook my head and closed Chay's door. I didnt see her in her bed but I heard the sink running in her bathroom.

"Chay can I talk to you for a minute?"

"Yeah wassup" she said not even looking my way

"Look Chay you a big girl now so im not going to sugar coat it I want to know why you dont like me"

"Because"

"Because what?"

"Because you come in here like you run something because you babysitting us and just because Mya and Kay like you dont mean I do." she said pushing pass me

"How do I act like im running something?"

"You be all over Uncle August and stuff"

"so If I left ya uncle alone me and you can be cool?"

"Yep" she answered holding her head up a little

"Look" she said sitting on the bed "It's not that I dont want Uncle August to have a girlfriend because I do I just want it to be the right one last time he was heart real bad and he hasnt dated since, and honestly I like it that way I just feel like you comin in here trying to take him from me"

"Chay I could never take August away from ya'll. He would die for you and ya sisters ya'll mean the world to him, and I'm pretty sure little ol' me couldnt change that. That man treat ya'll like his own damn kids, and if one of my kids ever told me they didnt like someone I was dating I would tell that nigga he needs to leave. So with this being said Chay if you want me and August to stop talking I'll quit I'll still come see you asnd the girls thoe" She nodded her head

I smiled and reached for a hug and suprisingly she hugged back so it's settled I'll tell August and miss Shelia today matter fact a breakfast or when the girls leave I dont want to make Mya and Kay upset and ruin there sleep over.

We stood and made our way to the kitchen. We were the last ones to sit down at the table and everyone started eating. August saved me a seat next to him but I let Chay take it he looked a little hurt but it is what it is. The only thing I regreted it because the only other seat was on the other side of Jamal his girl was on one side and their sister was on the other side of me. He kapt putting his hand on my thigh and I couldnt even enjoy my breakfast I knocked his hand off one last time and stood

"You know what I'm not hungry will you excuse me" I said looking at miss shelia she looked back at me knowingly and mugged the fuck out of Jamal. I went and sat on the living room couch and decided to post a picture on Instagram I used the picture I took tofay on the balcony.

"Why didnt you just take the seat next to me"

"August why were you acting like that earlier?"

"Answer my question first"

"Cause Chay wanted t sit there"

"When ya'll two got so friendly?"

"We talked before we came downstairs now answer my question"

"Something was said this mourning and it wasnt sitting right with me"

"what?"

"When I was kissing you this mourning trying to wake you up and shit you called me Shawn" I threw my hands over my mouth

"Oh my god August Im so sorry I was half way sleep and not thinking I mean I'm used to it being him I guess Im so sorry but why didnt you just telll me instead of- never mind Im sorry"

"You good ma me and my momma talked aout it and I feel where ya'll coming from" I smiled and reached for a hug I pulled back and went back to my phone as he went back to the kitchen.
