Buddar opened her eyes, she yawned and sat up. A searing pain suddenly shot through her head. "Ow!" She said, her hand flying to where the pain was. She stiffened up as her hand made contact with some kind of fabric, bandages. She noticed that she was lying in a bed, in a small room with bars on the window. "Lyra?" She asked, glancing around. No answer, where was her fairy?
"Lyra?" She asked, jumping up. "Lyra?!"
"Oi! Keep it down in there!" Someone shouted from behind the door of the cell.
She ran over to the door and tried to open it, but found it locked. "Where's my fairy?!" She yelled.
"Calm down, Night Trickster!" The guard behind the door said.
"Where is she?!" Buddar yelled. "If you've hurt her in any way, I'll break down the door and crush you!"
She heard the guard and someone else talking, then someone knocked on the door. "Buddar?" She heard Link's voice from behind the door. "It's alright, I have Lyra here with me."
"Hey! Are you okay?" She heard Lyra chirp.
Buddar sighed in relief, Lyra was alright. "My head hurts, but I'm fine." She said. "Where are we?"
"I've been staying with Link for the past couple of hours..." Lyra's usually happy tone became sad. "But you...."
Buddar felt her heart drop to her boots. "I'm in the castle dungeon, aren't I...." She sighed. "Great, I just HAD to drive the wagon into a wall. I'm such an idiot."
"Can't argue with that." Lyra said.
Buddar chuckled slightly. "Um, Buddar?" Lyra said. "There's a reason Link came down here with me."
Buddar's smile faded. "What's wrong?" She asked.
"Nothing's wrong!" Lyra said. "But... Princess Zelda wishes to see you."
The door swung open, causing Buddar to fall backwards since she was leaning against the door. Link caught her just before she hit the floor, he lifted her up so that she was back on her feet. "Thanks." She mumbled, taking a step away from him. She wasn't going to be friendly towards him yet, he was probably the one who threw her in jail.
Link led her up a staircase and through the halls of Hyrule Castle. Buddar was amazed at how beautiful the place was, not a single thing was out of place. Link led her through a huge set of doors, which led into the throne room, where Princess Zelda was sitting on her throne. Buddar bowed down, any sensible person, even a prisoner, would bow down to Princess Zelda.
Princess Zelda stood up and walked up to Buddar. Up close, Buddar could see that she and the princess were about the same height, but Buddar was just a bit taller. "Buddar Wolfin," Zelda said. "I'm quite shocked to see that you, out of all people, you are the Night Trickster. Tell me, why did you do it?"
Buddar stood up. "I had to," She said. "Every Hylian I met turned me away because of my... looks. Normal people don't have blazing red hair or brown eyes. I had to turn to the life of a thief since I couldn't find work, and I didn't have a family to support me. It was the only way I could survive."
She looked down at the ground. "I know what I did was wrong, and I may have taken it a bit too far with the wagon incident last night." She said. "And because of that, I'm willing to take any punishment you throw at me. But please, I beg you, spare my fairy, Lyra."
Zelda's blue eyes softened, she glanced at Link, then a smile crept onto her lips. "I have a better idea than punishment." She said.
Buddar glanced up at her, a confused look on her face. Zelda glanced over at Link. "Link, do you think you could look after Buddar?" Zelda asked. "And possibly teach her how to behave?"
"What?!" Buddar asked, turning her head to stare at Link, who looked just as shocked as she was.
"Please, Link?" Zelda asked.
Link glanced at Buddar, then he sighed. "Alright." He mumbled.
