"Are you going to tell your father?" Henry sat on the edge of the bed.

August sighed while leaning against the window. "Yes, if you want your little girlfriend dead. My dad doesn't tolerate her kind."

Henry looked over at me and patted my ankle. "No one can know about her."

"I was supposed to kill you." I hugged my knees. My eyes lifted up to meet August's, they both were confused and shocked to hear such a statement.

Henry started laughing, but stopped immediately when he realized I wasn't joking.

August took a deep breath and shrugged his shoulders. "I had guessed that, but what got me thinking is why would they send such a undertrained angel after me?"

Henry looked at him with a surprised look. "You knew she was an angel from the get go?"

"No. Not until I saw the wings."

I played with my bracelet. "This would've never happened if you didn't kill the angel." I clicked my tongue with a sassy tone of voice.

"What? What angel?" Henry looked back and forth between me and August.

August looked sternly at Henry. "I didn't kill an angel. Last year I got into a conflict with an angel, but I didn't kill her."

"Conflict? I think you need to elaborate on that." Henry lifted his left eyebrow.

"It's none of your business." August turned to me after giving Henry a threat. "And you. Get out of this place leave and never return."

"That might just happen anyways if I don't kill you. I made a deal with an Angel by the name Gabriel. He gave me life in exchange to kill you." I stood up walking closer to him. He was taller, more muscular than me, but I wasn't going to back down.

"Angel Gabriel? You mean the fallen angel? He's corrupt you know..." Henry got up and checked the shelf filled with books. He popped out a book on the history of Gabriel.

August leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. His eyes on me left me unsettled.

"The story goes that he went against the Moon Goddess and killed one of her children. The child that he killed contained the blood of vampirism, which caused all the vampires in the world to turn to dust. That's why vampires don't exist anymore. Now Angel Gabriel is after the blood of Lycans, the only way he can get rid of Lycans is to kill the Moon Goddess himself. In recent years, he's been killing many alphas around the world. Killing an alpha is equivalent to killing the entire pack." Henry closed his eyes for a brief moment. "We are fucked."

August grabbed his phone. "Why is he after me? I'm not an alpha."

"Yet. Keyword is yet. The moment your father, blessed Moon Goddess, dies you take over."

"Angel Gabriel told me to kill you tonight." I looked to Henry. "If I killed August, he was probably planning on killing the alpha himself, which is probably why he sent me as a distraction to you all."

I finished speaking, but I was out of breath. The minute I stopped talking a sharp scratching occurred on my back causing me to cry out in pain. My wings were disappearing. Henry rushed over and held me so that I wouldn't fall over. August had his hand on my back while cutting my shirt.

"Don't move, your feather got tangled with your shirt." August hurried. "There we go, oh wait you have a bra here. Fuck. Okay, okay, there we go."

Henry held my shirt in place so I wasn't completely naked from my top.

Tears streamed down my face as my bones cracked into position. My skin healed fast, but it was painful.

My hand covered my eyes as the tears overflowed.

Henry tried talking to me to distract me, but August's stroking hand on my back brought me real peace.

August cleared his throat before proceeding with his deep voice, "there's a way to get you out of this deal. I am meeting the Moon Goddess next, um, full moon. If you want to come with. She's the only person I know that can help you."

I stretched before turning my head to face August. "I'd like that a lot."

That's when a phone call rang. All of us were dead silent yet I felt a bad feeling. A bad feeling behind the phone call. August picked it up and answered it. His facial expression changed from a serious one to one so heartbreaking it made me want to cry. He closed his eyes hiding back his tears. When he opened his eyes, there was a full force of anger hidden in them. The phone call ended, but no one spoke.

"Henry. Take her home and tell everyone else to leave my house." August told us calmly.

"August-." Henry began.

"Leave." August picked up his phone and left the room without another word.

Henry helped me stand up and walked me out of August's mansion. Outside, Henry met with an older man.

"Any news?" Henry asked casually.

"I'm assuming you haven't heard of our alpha's death?" The older man asked.

"Alpha Rent died?" Henry covered his mouth in shock. "It was like you said, Kapriella, he was after the alpha while you after his son. You need to start distancing yourself from Angel Gabriel. He's going to corrupt you."

I immediately gave Henry a hug. I had never had someone care for me so much. "I'm so sorry for this. I'm sorry I was apart of this evil plan. I had no idea."

Henry sighed and hugged me back. "It's okay. You can prove yourself to us by being on our side from now on. You have to work with us, not against."

"Why do you trust me so easily?" I asked him nervously.

"I have a feeling you might be someone special to me." He winked. I rolled my eyes, but my eyes stayed locked on his for a couple seconds.

I parted from him and got into the car he directed me too. I waved to him and sat in the seat awaiting my journey to the dorms.
