Chapter 29

   " So, Luz how is everything going in your life lately? "

   " So, far it's getting better. I've finally divorced my ex-husband and now I'm living with Carmen. "

   " When are you going to make a move and ask her out? "

   " I have no idea. Why are you asking? Shouldn't you be telling me that I need to wait a little longer because I just got divorced? "

   " Nope, because we both know Carmen and she wouldn't hurt you as he did. "

   " I know but I just want to take it slow this time. "

   " I get that, just don't take to long. "

   " You certainly didn't. "

   " What does that mean? "

   " Oh, please you've told me how you and Scotty have started your relationship and how you've already done it. "

   " I just never imagined you having sex with anyone until you were dating for a few years or married even. I didn't expect you to just have it by now. "

   " It's not as bad as I'm making it seem, I promise. I just hope he's the right one for you. After all of those creepy letters that you're getting, I think you deserve someone to protect you. "

   " Mhm, go on ahead and get out of here so you can go visit Malcolm. "

   " Alright, I'll see you on Monday. "

You stood up from your desk and grabbed your bag from underneath the wooden surface. You slid your phone and other belongings into the bag and you made your way to the elevator. You traveled to the lobby and saw Scotty waiting in the lobby. He was holding purple flowers in his hands and you smiled at seeing him and the flowers. You walked up to him and hugged him from behind, he raised his arm and saw you creating a smile on his face.

   " Well, hello there beautiful. "

   " Hi, Scotty. "

He turned around and hugged you tightly. The hug was warm and loving, you never wanted to leave his arms. Sadly you had to. You pulled away from the hug and he handed you the purple carnations. You gladly accepted them and held them gently in your palms.

   " I wanted to see you before I went in for work and before you went to your friend's house. "

   " You make it sound like I'm a kid. "

   " You're not if you were I would be very surprised that a kid your age knows how to-"

   " Don't finish that sentence. "

   " I was gonna say, cook. What's wrong with that? "

   " You were not going to say that and you know it. " You shouted at him.

He laughed at your angry expression and walked you out of the building. He led you to the crosswalk where you would separate and he would go to work while you went to the flower shop to meet Malcolm. He wrapped his arms around your waist and brought your face closer to his. His sweet lips engulfed yours in a sweet kiss when he pulled back you smiled at seeing him pout.

   " Do you really have to go? Why not just stay at our place and we could eat dinner tonight and then snuggle with a movie on. "

    " That sounds so relaxing babe but, no. "

   " But- "

   " But nothing. Now go to work Scotty. "

He kissed you one more time before leaving to head to the bar and start work. You crossed the street and walked towards the flower shop that was just closing up for the day. Malcolm was excited to have you come over to his home again and stay the night. He wanted to prove himself to you that he was meant to be more than a friend to you. He had already looked through your bag of clothes.

You entered the shop and looked through the store but didn't see the green-eyed male. You continued to search until you reached the white flower section where he was hiding. His hair blended in with the white flowers so you couldn't see him.

   " Malcolm you blend in with the white flowers too much. "

   " Well, that's not my fault. White hair is in my genetics so you can't blame me. "

   " I can't but will. "

   " Now that's just mean. "

   " You invited me over so again it's your fault. "

   " You're right there. "

   " Whenever you're ready I am. "

   " Okay, there are a few things I need to take of around the shop first before we leave, is that okay? "

   " Yeah, go on ahead and finish up. "

He nodded and got back to work.
