Chapter Twelve

Gwen came running down the stairs after a few minutes with her hair freshly brushed and different clothes.

"Ready to go?" I asked as she walked towards me. She nodded. "Alright, let's go." Suddenly, she burst out laughing. "What?"

"It sounded like you from one of your videos," she said as she tried to calm down.

"I would hope I sounded like me from one of my videos," I said, confused.

"I mean, you said it the same way the same way as in your video. The video always makes me laugh and it reminded me of it," she explained. I laughed nervously.

"Oh, well I'm glad I can make you laugh." Gwen smiled and followed me out of the flat. We grabbed a taxi and rode it to a restauraunt called The Grill on the Alley. It wasn't formal, but it wasn't a McDonald's either. We walked in and told the man waiting to seat us that there were only two of us. I was starting to be very aware that I was wearing my cat with lasers shirt. The man came back and led us to a small booth at the far end of the room.

"So, what kind of food do they serve here?" she asked as she sat down. The waitor said that he had to run to the back to get more menus.

"I'm not really sure. Phil suggested I eat here sometime, but I hadn't so far, " I answered. "We're about to find out though." The waiter gave us the menus and then scurried off. We both decided to go the safe route and get steaks, since that was the only thing either of us were familiar with besides salad and chips.
