LISA

"Want more pasta ?" Jack asks me with an innocent tone in his voice.

"No, thank you. I'm full," I respond and give him a small smile while Elijah is chatting with our aunt. "I didn't know you were an excellent chef. You should drop your lawyer robe and start a restaurant."

To celebrate the pregnancy of my sister, Elijah and Jack gathered their families and friends for a little party. I'm so glad I'm going to have a niece in less than a year. I can't wait to see her or him and spoil them with lots of gifts. I am sure they're going to be great parents. Elijah has always been a mother figure to me and Jack is one the nicest guy I have ever met.

"You're such a dork," he chuckles and takes another sip of his beer. "Elijah told me that you've been seeing Jennie's brother a lot. Is there something you didn't tell me?"

I'm not surprised to hear that my sister talks about me to her husband. I have known Jack since I was seventeen and he was always sweet with me. He sees me as his little sister and I am glad to have him as my brother-in-law. I told him about my sexual orientation when I was twenty-one. I was afraid that he might see me differently, but he didn't. He gave me a warm smile and told me he was pansexual which shocked me a lot.

"He's just a good friend of mine, but I guess Elijah thinks all the boys and girls around my age want to date me."

Since I broke up with Somi, my sister wants me to find a rebound because, according to her, it's the best way to find happiness. She's doing the same thing with Jisoo and Jennie. Except for them, Elijah's only introducing men to them. That's how Jennie and her ex-boyfriend Jaden met. I am glad it didn't work out between them because they were clearly not meant to be together.

My sister thinks she's cupid and she sucks at it.

However, Elijah is not a bad person at all. She just wants us to be happy and for her, the definition of eternal happiness is to have someone that we will love to the moon and back by our side. That is why she is determined to find me someone that can win my heart.

Little did she know that her best friend already won my heart.

"Isn't it the case?" he asks causing me to chuckle. He puts his beer on the table and gives me a warm smile. "I'm betting fifty bucks Jennie's male version loves you."

I roll my eyes in amusement and shakes my head.

"You're being ridiculous. It's impossible," I tell him, but he doesn't seem convinced.

"Trust me, it's not. The only thing impossible is you and Jennie dating. That girl is straighter than a ruler," Jack jokes making me freeze when I hear her name.

He had hit a sore spot.

I force a smile, and he seems to have no suspicion about me being stiff after his joke.

"I need to go to the bathroom," I excuse myself.

He nods his head and smiles at me, "Yeah, go ahead. I'll go get another beer."

He doesn't need to tell me where the bathroom is because I have been invited to his parent's house at least four timee. I give him a friendly pat on his shoulder before leaving the living room. Jack comes from a wealthy family where every member is either a lawyer or a doctor. However, he's always been humble and down to earth about anything. His cousins are nice too. I've talked to a few of them and they always been cool with me.

When I am about to take the stairs, someone calls me from behind. I turn around to see Elijah smiling at me.

"There you are! I need to tell you something!"
