Zay's POV

I conferred with my father last night. He said he would talk to the extra security set up for Amber and get back to me. He also said it was probably just stress from leaving her, but after being restless all night and having the same terrifying nightmares, I'm convinced it's something more.

I manage to sit through breakfast with the gang but I can't eat anything. My mind is too rilled up and my stomach won't settle.

Matt, and Levi finish first and go back to the room, and then Cam and Adam follow later. I decide to go practice fighting, to get some energy out.

I knock out all of my opponents. Even after all of the punches and dodges I still can't get the shaking feeling out.

Maybe I just need more rest. I head back to the cabin ready to just sink back into bed. I open the doors, and the second I see the scenario before me my wolf threatens to go into a frenzy.

Adam is holding Chip, Ambers bear. I growl directly at him, so he looks up with wide eyes. Everyone stares at me in shock, but my attention is only on Adam.

"Why do you have that?" I growl, striding towards him.

The kid starts shaking and thrusts Chip towards me. I snatch it from him and repeat the question.

"I-I was j-just uh l-l-looking," he stutters repeatedly and I realize this will go nowhere.

"Don't ever touch it again understood?" I order fiercely.

"Y-yeah," he stutters once more. He looks at the ground and cowers away from me.

"Bro, chill out. We just dared him to touch it to see if you'd notice. Didn't know you'd get so mad. It's just a teddy bear," said Matt from beside me.

I make eye contact with him. "Don't tell me to chill out. I'll do whatever the hell I want to do. He shouldn't be touching my stuff," I snap at him.

Matt looks taken aback by my response, but at the moment I don't care.

"And none of you guys touch it either, it's mine," I say to the rest of them.

Cameron and Levi stare at me until I lock eyes with them. Then they quickly deter their gazes somewhere else. The room is quiet except for my ragged breathing.

"I gotta get some air," I say, and leave them looking dumbfounded at the space where I stood.

After I cool down I realize I was a bit harsh. But seeing him holding the bear she gave me just made me feel so mad, so protective. And their reactions were odd. I've never seen them look at me that way before. I hope they'll forgive me.

I pace outside for a long time trying to clear my head. All I can feel is worry and unease. Somethings wrong, and I can feel it with every fiber of my being.

"Zyler?"

I whip my head to the sound of my father's voice. "What? Have you heard anything?"

The look on his face does nothing to comfort me. "Dasia got to me. She said she's been looking for Amber everywhere. She never left with her after the dance, people said she was last seen with someone named Roman? Do you know anything about him?"

Roman. "I knew there was something off about him. I knew it. He's probably been working with Ryder this whole time. I shouldn't have left her," I say wanting to pull my hair out at my mistake.

"We had no idea that Ryder had someone on the inside. It's not your fault."

"Yes it was I could've-,"

"Zyler this isn't the time for regret. You need to focus and think of anything that can help us figure out where she is. Did Roman go to the highschool with you?"

I take a deep breath. "Yes he did. His scent was off, but it wasn't the scent of a werewolf."

"It may be possible that Ryder is working with humans, but that doesn't seem like his way of going."

"I don't know dad but we have to go look for her."

"Of course son. We'll get the guards and search parties up as soon as possible. I suggest you get ready yourself. This might take some time and you have to have your head right," he says.

But in my mind I'm already ready. I'll go through whatever I have to to find her. Any obstacle, it won't matter. I won't rest until she's safe in my arms once again.
