When the Moon fell in love with the Sun (Remus Lupin x Student)

Chapter Two

When I woke up the next morning, I got dressed quickly and headed down to the great hall for breakfast. I was not particularly hungry, as I don't like to eat too early, but I wanted to get my timetable from professor Sprout and get ready for the day. She must have seen me coming and met me at the entrance to the great hall with my timetable.

'Here you go Lizzy, early as always!' She smiled as she handed me my timetable 'Thank you, professor, you know I like to know as soon as possible just in case I have potions first lesson and have to prepare myself for Professor Snape first thing' I joked 'Have a good day!'

I ran out of the hall and back to my dormitory. Fortunately, being head girl, I no longer had to share a dorm with the other Hufflepuff girls in my year group. They never liked me much and I was glad to be rid of them. As I was walking, I began to analyze my timetable. I had a morning of Defence against the Dark Arts this morning, and then Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, and Charms after lunch. 'At least I don't have to deal with Snape until after lunch' I thought to myself as I tapped the barrels and made my way back into the common room. Most of the students were now heading to breakfast, so it was nice and quiet.

When I got back to my room, I put my robes on, brushed my strawberry blonde curls quickly, brushed my teeth, and prepared my books for the day. I always liked to be early to my first class of the day as I wanted to read up on the topic before the class began. At about 8:35 I picked up my bag and headed to the DADA classroom. I thought it was likely that all the students and teachers were still at breakfast, so I would be able to get some reading done before the masses joined.

I walked into the classroom and set my bag down underneath my desk. I always sit in the middle of the room, so that I blend into the crowd. Too close to the front, and the teachers always ask questions, too close to the back and all of the popular kids mess about and I can't focus. I opened my textbook when professor Lupin walked out of his office.

'Oh, I hadn't expected any students for another 15 minutes' He said as he made his way down the stairs from his office. 'I'm sorry professor, I like to get to class early and read up on the topic, but I can wait in the hallway if you need time' I said picking up my bag.

'Nonsense, not to worry. We're looking at Boggarts today, if you wanted to read up whilst I prepare the final touches' He smiled as he levitated a wardrobe from the corner into the centre of the room.

'But we studied Boggarts in third year professor' I questioned

'I know that Miss Barker' He smiled 'but school is about more than passing tests, and as this is your final year I will be covering old topics once a fortnight to ensure you have the knowledge before going into the real world.' He went back to arranging the classroom as I opened my book to the page about Boggarts. Anxiety filled me up, I couldn't face them in my third year, and nobody would let me forget it for the rest of the year.

'Professor,' I asked 'Are we going to be facing boggarts this morning?'

'Yes, you will be. Everyone will have their go, and then you can go onto reading for next week's subject.' He explained.

'Seen as I was here first, could I go last, or once everyone else has left?'

'Why would you want to go last Miss Barker?' He asked, looking very confused.

'Well professor, to be quite honest, I don't have any friends, everyone in my year group dislikes me, and my deepest fear is a very exposing and personal thing to share with thirty people who have bullied me relentlessly for the last 6 years. I'd just rather they didn't see it.' I explained

'I never thought of it like that before' He said quietly.

'Would you be comfortable for us all to see your boggart?' I asked.
