I sat on a bench after jogging calming my throbbing heart while a hooded boy sat behind my bench that was attached to it. Morning breeze touched my skin and soothed my sweat slicked body.

"There's a boy, pretty impressive." The hooded person whispered with his deep voice while spreading his newspaper wide before him, feigning to read.

"Who?"

"Alex Diavolo. He has an excellent brain with reflexes." He said turning a page.

"I see. But can we trust him?" I asked sipping through my sugarless drink while my eyes wandered around the park. Some were chatting in groups, some were jogging or doing yoga and a few were walking with their dogs.

"Not yet. I searched through his documents. Something seems forceful."

I smirked at Dyson's remarks.

"Where are the documents?" I asked as I had to see for myself if Alex Diavolo was suitable before recruiting him in our team.

He sighed and stood up leaving the newspaper in the bin and walked away.

I went to the bin and took the newspaper, dropping my empty can I walked at my usual pace. Before me, a brown haired boy with green eyes stared back at me from the picture that stuck on the documents.

Same boy stood clapping at me wearing a black tunic and black jeans. His green eyes gave a dangerous and mysterious look at me.

"Bravo! Biella!" He said a playful grin plastered on his face.

"Alex."

"Well, you know, I was quite impressed with the shield you created by your swords. It was killer!"

I nodded, "I take it as a compliment. But now we know why you didn't show up from the beginning of the mission." I spat at him but anger was far away from it.

"We?" He asked, raising his chin and his brow.

"You mean, Spider and you?"

"Yes." I still didn't get why he betrayed us.

"Spider! Can you hear me?" He shouted, a look of anger slowly getting him.

"He can," I replied. The building was empty with only soldiers. I wondered if it was a plan to lure me out.

"So, it has been two years yet I could not see him in person. Why is that?"

"Because of this-" I pointed my finger at the floor, "-situation where you could betray us and maybe tell your friends about our whereabouts and how Spider actually looks." I added, "So, that's the reason for your betrayal?"

"Of course not!"

From the information that Dyson had given me six months ago, Alex was actually working as a spy under my sworn enemy, Dante. But why would he be friends with Marco?

"So?"

"He pays better!"

Oh!

"Figures!" Dyson muttered through my earpiece

My brows twitched. What did he mean by figures? Yes, I did pay him low wages but still he was a spy from my enemy. Wasn't he already getting his payments from Dante? Why would I give him extra when I knew he was going to betray me sooner or later!

I don't pay my enemies to cut my own throat. Thank you very much!

But it was a relief that Alex himself showed his true colours as I was beginning to worry about paying him anymore.
