finding the unknown

Chapter1

Sitting at home with my family my mind trailed to when earlier today my friend Riley told me about a mysterious case being held in our little town. Since my father is a sheriff I never heard him talking about a case that's in our town so I decided to ask him about it.

"hey dad have you heard about anything strange and weird happening" I asked curiously "what no and even if I did hear it's nothing you could be concerned about at a young age" he said slowly while going through some weird notes. I sighed and went to my mom. Maybe she has some information about the cases.

I walked to her office and knocked on the door and walked in when I heard a faint come in "hey mom I have quick question" I mumbled taking a seat "sure what is it" she asked putting down her pen "so do you know about the cases" I asked hoping to get some information out of her "sorry no but am sure you can check out the newspaper in the mail" I signed and got up.

I went to our mail box and got out a big paper with a big heading reading 'missing people and other different cases around Santiago' this can't be good being the curious girl I am I went ahead inside to my room and sat reading more of this interesting newspaper. 'the residents of Santiago should be on high alert due to the constant disappearance of people. Be on high alert as a strong storm and tornado is coming your way.' I stopped reading and skipped to the other interesting part.

'there has been a report of a 10 year old girl missing. The parents claim that she was playing in the garden with her sister while her sister went inside to get some water by the time she was back her sister was gone. No one knows fully what's the cause of the sudden cases and climate change but we know that this is not normal' after reading that I ran to my father.

"hey dad I was reading the newspaper, I know that's odd but thats not it the thing is read it and find out" I said rapidly out of breath. My father carefully took the newspaper and scanned it.

I waited patiently for a response but all I got was a "interesting" and that's it "so nothing weird" I asked raising an eyebrow. "not at all I find this normal since I have been getting alot of calls about these cases so am not even a bit curious" he said. I stared at him for a while "and you did nothing to help" I asked in a creepy way "I can't help" he said.

"ok but dad, your a sheriff there should be something your able to do or capable of" I said quickly getting inpatient "I tried all that I could but we do know a place that we THINK is where all the missing people have been to" he said typing things on his computer. Ok maybe my dad can't do anything but am sure am capable of something even if it's small.

I got my phone and texted my friend group about what Am up to and they agreed to help me find this mystery with them. Maybe am young but am smarter than you think I am and when it comes to mystery Sherlock Holmes is my other face.

I showered and did my homework and decided to go to bed before tomorrow to start a new day with exclusive mystery filling it
