Love vs. Lust
I ran and ran until my body was aching so bad that I collapsed to the ground. I sat there for a few minutes just concentrating on my breathing before I looked around and noticed how far I had ran. I was in town and was sitting in front of and ice cream shop. People were staring and pointing at me as they walked passed but nobody even bothered to stop and ask me if I was ok.
When I felt strong enough I pushed myself up just to fall back down again. I must have sprained my ankle or something because it was hurting something awful.
“Are you ok?” I heard a voice asking from behind me. I turned around and saw a guy standing there looking concerned. He was wearing an apron that told me that he works in the ice cream shop.
“I think I sprained my ankle” I replied, not seeing any point in lying about it.
“Come on, I’ll help you up” He said walking towards me and bending down in front of me. He moved his hands under my arms and gently pulled me to my feet.
“Thank you” I said letting go of him.
“You can’t walk like this” He stated smiling at me sweetly.
“I… uhm…” I started saying but I couldn’t come up with anything so I just clasped my arms back around him and let him help me into the ice cream shop. He led me over to a booth and I sat down grateful for the comfortable seat.
“I know what will help, just stay here” he said and then disappeared. I wondered what he was talking about but couldn’t get myself to look where he went.
About two minutes had past when he returned with two ice creams in his hand. He slid into the seat opposite me and handed one of the ice creams to me.
“Thank you” I whispered feeling my cheeks blush. What the hell was up with that? Usually I would have felt uncomfortable and would have tried to come up with an excuse to leave but for some reason I felt very at ease around this strange boy that I knew nothing about.
“My pleasure, I hope you like chocolate fudge” He replied grinning at me. My god he is hot, how did I not notice it before?
“It’s my favorite, how did you know?” I asked curiously.
“It’s the sweetest ice cream we have and since you are so sweet I just figured that it suited you” He replied. I giggled at how stupid and adorable his answer was.
“What’s so funny?” he asked laughing with me.
“You” I replied shaking my head in amusement.
“Oh well, I guess funny is better than crazy” He replied looking serious.
“Yeah, funny is much better than crazy” I said feeling myself unusually drawn to this boy.
We ate our ice cream and I made a mental note that I should seriously come here more often. It was the best ice cream I have ever had.
“So what’s your name?” the boy asked looking really interested.
“Gabby” I replied starting to feel a bit off again. My heart was still aching because of everything that happened and my ankle was killing me.
“That a pretty name” he said smiling at me. Butterflies started flying around in my stomach and I cursed myself under my breath. How could this strange boy cause me to feel this way when I was supposed to be in love with Cole?
