Jack and Zach got to know each other more after Zach accidentally texted Jack (secretly thanking Corbyn for giving him the wrong number).
A few months passed and many late nights spent talking to each other when Zach was done waiting. He wanted to meet the sweet boy across the state that he'd fallen for with no shame.
He figured out soon after they started talking that Jack only lived a few hours from him, though they'd never gotten the chance to meet.
