The cold bench

I didn't sleep at all. But it wasn't tired. I went to kitchen, before anyone was up, and took an apple. I sat and eat it as I was looking at the snowflakes falling from the sky. I couldn't sleep, and I was so tired of doing the same all the time, so I took a book to escape the real life. I went outside, because it was too boring here at home. I went to the nearest park, and found a bench. It was full of snow, so I took it away with my hand, and sat down. I began to read the book I got from my mom to Christmas. It wasn't so many people there, since it was 1. January, but it was some people. Most old. Then suddenly someone sat next to me. At first I thought why the person wanted to sit here. It was a lot of benches in this park. It was an awkward silence for a little bit until he he said; "what are you reading?" I was quiet for some seconds. I couldn't see the face of the person. He had a dark-blue coat on, and I only saw the tip of his nose. He turned around and began to look at me. In the corner of my eye I could see he had dark, shaggy hair, and green eyes and a little smirk. "Nothing," I answered. It was quiet a little time until I said;"that is the name of the book," and showed him the title. It came I little oh from him. I could see that he was looking at me, but I wasn't looking back. "How old are you?" he asked me, and I told him I was in 9b. I know I didn't answer his question, but it was too late now. He smiled. "That's the class I am starting in after the break," he said to me a little happy. I smiled back at him, and closed the book. We had a little eye-contact for a while, but then I went back to look at the white ground. "I need to go now I guess, but one final question. What's your name?" He was standing up now, and he was really tall. I felt like a midget where I sat. "Skylar. You?" I asked. "Hmm. It fits your look. I like it. I am Lucas," he said, turned his back to me and walked away. I watched him walk till I couldn't see him anymore. For one time, I was looking forward to start school. I wasn't in the mood to read, so I went back home. I began to be a little cold anyway.

I am sorry this one is a little short. And no, it's not a romantic story. It is about Skylar's life. It will be a little romance and there will be ups and downs. Next time I will jump over some days, and let her start at school. Hope you enjoy reading it <3
