   " Good evening Malcolm. "

" Evening, Y/n. What can I do for you? "

" I wanted to ask you what Heliotropes meant. "

" They mean eternal love or devotion. Why do you ask? "

" Malcolm you have to help me out here. Please, these letters are getting worse and worse. The flowers changed too. "

   " Changed? "

" Usually they're roses but they're heliotropes. Malcolm please just let me see the registration form for the people who have ordered flowers. "

" I'm sorry to say no one has ordered flowers lately. "

   " What? "

" Yeah, my shop has been closed for the past couple of days because I went to the wedding so today is the first day it's been open. I've only had orders from today. "

" What if they ordered beforehand and someone delivered them while you were away. "

" Well, I'm the only person that works here. I own the store, I work it, and I keep it running. "

" No one else works here? Why? "

" Well, let me make you dinner one night and I'll explain everything then okay? You can even stay the night. "

" I don't want to intrude, Malcolm. Plus I really just want to get this whole admirer situation over with. I can't stop being paranoid every day because of the letters he sends me. "

" How bad are they? "

" Let me show you. "

You dug in your bag and took out the letter you and Luz found on your counter. You handed it to him and you watched his eyes as he read the letter. When he finished he set the letter back down on the counter.

' It's cute how she carries it with her. '

You took the card and put it back in your bag and searched his eyes for any emotion. You waited for his reaction. He set his hands on the counter and leaned forward towards you.

" Y/n this has me concerned. Maybe you should stay with someone and not in your home. "

" I don't want to keep running from my house, Malcolm. I live there. "

   " Y/n..."

Malcolm reached out and grabbed your hand caressing your knuckles with his thumb. He showed worry in his eyes but hidden behind that was satisfaction and love.

" Why don't you come to my place this Friday night and I'll make you dinner. You can stay the night too for the weekend. You wouldn't be intruding at all and I would love to have you over for dinner, you're always welcome at my home. "

You thought for a moment about staying and you decided that you would. You only nodded your head and Malcolm's smile came back to his face. His smile brightened up his white hair while his green eyes shone with happiness.

" Okay, I can drive you after work on Friday just bring your bag here and I'll drive you home. "

" Alright. I just bring my bag here? "

" Yeah and I'll keep it in the back until you're done with work. "

" Okay. I better get going now my break is almost over. "

   " Okay, I'll see you later. "

   " Bye. "

You waved at Malcolm and left the shop, heading back to work. You walked quickly because the clouds above signaled that it was going to rain very soon. You had forgotten your umbrella as usual and you didn't want to be caught in the rain. You waited with a bunch of people at the light waiting to cross. You didn't know any of them and decided to focus your gaze on crossing the street when the light told you.

The light changed allowing you to cross the street. As you started walking you saw Scotty on the other side walking the way you had come. You kept your head down and didn't lookup. You hoped that he wouldn't see you and you could continue walking in peace. Luck just wasn't on your side that day.

You felt someone grab your arm and you were stopped in the middle of the crosswalk. The rain started to pour down and hit you but it was light at the moment. Scotty held your forearm tightly and turned you towards him in the sea of people.

   " Y/n we need to talk. "

" Scotty we are in the middle of a cross-walk and the light is about to change. "

" Then let's go grab some lunch and talk. I really need to talk to you. "

As always his blue eyes had shone and sparkled trying to get you lost in them. The scene didn't help either with the rain falling down and hitting you both. The sea was dispersing and soon it would only be you two standing in the middle of the cross-walk.

" My break is almost over. I have to get to work. "

" Then come to my place tonight. We can have some food and I can explain myself.

" Scotty let me go. "

" I'm not going to let go unless you talk to me. "

He continued to hold you in place and you kept trying to get away. The crowd was becoming thinner and thinner until it was only you two left and the sign at the end of the street said you only had ten seconds left.

   " Fine! " You shouted.

" I'll come to get you from work and we can go straight there okay? "

" Fine, now let me go. I have a job I need to get back to. "

   " Great. "

He let you go and you ran to the other side of the street. When you reached the other side the light had turned green and cars were speeding to get away from the light. You looked back and saw Scotty had barely made it across, but he got to the other side of the street. He had looked back at you and smiled seeing you on the other side. You shook your head and started running back to your office building.
