"What are you hiding from me, seriously?"
Luhan asked, and I suddenly stopped mid-stride.
"What? what do you mean what am I hiding from you? I'm not hiding anything." I said a little bit too fast, and it must've not sounded as convincing as I hoped it would, since a ghost of a smile traced over Luhan's lips and he sighed.
"You do know that I can read right through you, right?" He said with a challenging tone to his voice. Oh ofcourse, Han. Whatever you say.
He wasn't finished. "And, you do know that I'm keeping my mouth shut only because I'm trying to give you the space to think about when to tell me." He said.
I quickly glanced around me for an escape, I know it's pointless since he'll eventually force the words out of my mouth, but I couldn't handle being under this much pressure.
I turned to him again "What do you think you know, Luhan?" I asked, mirroring his challenging tone from earlier, except that my voice faltered at some parts.
He lifted up his hand and started counting on each finger. "One, you're hiding something from me about your date with Sehun, I'd have to be an idiot not to figure out that something was wrong because you didn't seem at all happy when you came to my house yesterday, and two, Suho must have something to deal with it because he wasn't acting as usual around you, and by usual I mean nervous, which brings me to the fact that I find it discusting if you two starte-"
"Right. I got off topic sorry. Three, and this is the most important one, what were you doing downstairs last night?"
I swear I could hear my own heartbeat in my ears.
"What do you mean what was I doing? I was sleeping." I said and tried my best to sound nonchalant. Luhan shoved his hands into the pockets of his jeans as his face broke into a I-don't-buy-it smile.
"Let me ask again," this time he looked at something behind me and brought his lips to my ear, whispering softly. "What did my grandma say that had you so worked up, Sarang?" he said and I quickly pulled away.
How the hell does he know that? I'm million percent sure that he was asleep during the entire night. His snoring made it clear that he was. I felt myself going weak in the knees at his sudden behavior.
"Please tell me what is going on." He plead. Luhan plead. I ran both of my hands through my hair and took a deep breath before speaking, "what is it that you want to know Luhan?"
Was this it?
"Everything that you know, I know there are tons of things being kept from me, my grandmother is a very secretive person, she always was. I know something is wrong with that house, with everything I know. I-I just want to know the truth." He said and then took my hand in his. "Please, please, tell me what you know."
His eyes almost popped out of his face from how big they looked, and then I noticed it. The peer pressure Luhan have been going through started showing on his features, his face looked pale and he looked much thinner than usual, which caused his eyes to look even more bigger on his face, he had dark circles beneath them, his skin was unusually dry, and atop of that, his unexpected new hair cut.
What kind of a friend am I? a bad one! my subconcious shouted. She was right. I was a horrible friend, so horrible that I didn't pay attention to what was going on in my bestfriend's life and only kept caring about myself and Sehun. For how long has Luhan been like this?
