•Noah's POV•

No, Kayden and I haven't done the do, but if he thinks kissing is sexual, so be it.
"I'm home losers!" I yell coming back from Kayden's house, just before lunch, because I didn't really want to hang out with Kayden all day. Honestly, he's been kind of annoying lately. Like, bad. He's always bugging me to come over, always. Sometimes I just like to be alone in my room listening to music, as lame as it sounds.
I went straight into my room and put on Beg for It by Iggy and jammed out when my dad knocked on my door.
I stop dancing with an embarrassed look. "You tell no one, you understand!"
He puts his hands up innocently, "Hey, me and your mom and going to her doctors appointment. You can either stay her with your brother and sister or come with us."
"I'll stay here."
"Okay." He walks out and I lay down on back on my bed checking my phone.
Seventeen missed calls from Kayden. That's, strange. All of them were the same, something like call me back, or we need to talk.
I dialed his number and he picked up on the third ring. "Noah, I think we need to end things."
I sit straight up quickly. "What? Why?"
"I don't know, I'm kinda bored with you, to be honest."
"Excuse me?"
"You never want to do anything fun."
"You're always telling me, no, demanding me to come over, don't you think that gets boring."
"Well I'm sorry if you're too good for me."
"I never said that."
"No, you know what, this is why things just aren't working between us."
"Wait, let me get this straight. You're breaking up with me on the phone?"
"Yeah. So?"
"Well why didn't you just send a text?" I ask annoyedly. "Takes less time."
"You're right, I don't know why I didn't think that."
"Whatever." I hang up and throw my phone on the bed. "Ahhh!"
Kyler comes running in with his plastic Nerf gun. "Are you okay? You screamed! Are there zombies, villains, ghosts?"
"I'm fine."
I bend down to hug him and he looks up at me strangely. "Why are you hugging me? You never hug me. In fact, you told me not to ever come within five feet of you, at anytime. Or you would put me in a box and ship me to China to and orphanage for baby Chinese children, while I was sleeping. Or, you would cut off my toes and feed them to Fred, my hamster. Then you would wait until my toes came back out Fred's other end and sew them back into my feet."
"Shut up Ky. I love you so much baby brother." I laugh and let go of hugging him.
He runs out screaming. "Mommy! Daddy! Kenzie! People of the world! Noah, yes, my diva sister Noah, she told me she loves me!"
This is going to be a long day.

•Courtney's POV•

I went to my doctors appointment excited to learn about the baby growing inside my stomach, which Cam kept insisting was a girl, Samantha, to be precise.
I sat nervously in the waiting room and Cam took my hand, "Nervous?"
"Yeah." I smile looking away.
"Why, you've been down this road four times."
"I know, but I just, I don't know."
"Courtney?" We stand up and walk into the back to a room. I sit down on a chair as she puts the cold gel on my stomach.
"I'll be right back." She smiles slightly before walking out and I look at Cameron.
"Wonder why she left."
"Who knows," he shrugs and puts his hand on my shoulder.
The nurse walks back in, followed by a doctor who is looking at my stomach and my chart very carefully with a strange look on his face.
"Is something wrong, doctor?" Cameron asks reading the doctors facial expressions.
"I don't know how to tell you this, but, something went wrong, and the baby couldn't make it. I'm so sorry."
I feel that gray cloud that had gone away ever since I was with Cameron, start creeping back over me.
We gather our stuff and leave the office in tears.
My baby, less then three months old, won't be born. There won't be a little one running around our house. It's cries won't wake us up at two a.m. making us wonder why we had another child. It won't require me to lose so much sleep I almost go insane, that I want to just ignore that sweet little cry, but I can't. I just have to get up to help it.
In the car on the way home Cameron takes my hand and I wipe away a tear from my eye. We didn't talk for the whole ride, we knew what we each were feeling. There was no need to talk. We couldn't have communicated with words if we wanted to.
When we got home I went straight to bed and didn't come out until eleven p.m. but only to get another box of tissues.
Noah asked over and over what was wrong, but I couldn't bring it to myself that this was a reality, this had to be a dream. Had to. Things like this just don't happen in real life. Do they?
