Chapter 3 Broken Promise

After Ash reunited with his Pidgeot after 4 long years, Pidgeot feels abandoned and won't give Ash the time of day but Ash has asked Pidgeot for its help to get Pikachu back after it has been stolen by a group of wild Spearow and Fearow.

Ash and Meowth look on eagerly to see if Pidgeot will help them, Pidgeot turns away and looks at the paintings inside the tree, he is overcome with the emotion of abandonment and then turns back to Ash who has his head down looking at the ground, you can feel Ash's hatred of himself as Pidgeot's look turns from anger to pity.

"Pidgeot!" Pidgeot spreads his wings out far as it yells out, Ash looks up at his old friend, Pidgeot nodes his head to say yes I will help you,

"Yes, thank you" Meowth says with a massive grin on his face, a smiles breaks on Ash's face as he nodes back at his old Pokemon.

Ash is riding on a Pidgeot through the sky with Meowth on another one holding on for dear life as his shaking and face just petrified, Ash looks ahead and sees his old Pidgeot leading the way, a flashback occurs as he remembers Pidgeot as a Pidgeotto battling for the Cerulean Gym badge against Starmie.

"Pidgeotto dodge and use gust" Misty's Starmie tries to hit another tackle but misses and is hit by Pidgeotto's gust and thrown into the gym wall.

"Kid," Meowth says breaking Ash out of it, "look," Meowth points to an old, fallen, dead big tree. They land in the forest just before the opening. Pidgeot orders everyone around, pointing to a group of Pidgey, then a group of Pidgeotto then the two other Pidgeots, the bird's node their head in understandment of what their role and task are as they all fly off. Pidgeot brushes his wing forward to ensure Ash follows him while Meowth goes with the Pidgeotto. They get to the bottom of the tree as the Pidgey make a distraction throwing little rocks as the Spearow that are guarding the bottom of the tree, the Spearow go after the Pidgey who fly off into the forest. Next, the Pidgeotto climb up the tree using their sharp claws to avoid making noise that would be caused by flapping their wings, Meowth is on the back of one as they climb up to the first opening.

A Pidgeotto pops his head out of the opening "Pidgeotto," it says softly indicating the coast is all clear as the Pidgeot make a massive jump with Ash on the back holding on, they jump into the clearing but Ash slips and is about to fall out of the tree but is grabbed by Pidgeot's claw, he looks at his old Pidgeot and remembers the time he was in the snow and a snowstorm appeared causing Ash to go into a cave.

Ash returns his Pokemon to make sure they are warm and cozy inside their Pokeballs, but they refuse, too worried about Ash they stay out, his other Pokemon pop out of their Pokeball as they cuddle around him, Ash with a shocked and loving face smiles as he cuddles them back, Pidgeotto comes up to Ash's head and wraps his arms around him and the other Pokemon keeping them warm and safe.

"Wheres Jessie and James?" Meowth says as Pidgeot brings Ash up safe and sound inside the tree, Ash with a shocked looked on his face looks up at Pidgeot who has already turned around and started giving orders to the Pidgeotto, he points to what look like a staircase inside the tree, the Pidgeotto node their head and take Meowth up the staircase. Ash looks around and sees Pikachu in a cage, he runs up to the cage "Pikachu!" he shouts softly,

Pikachu turns around "Pika" he says with a joyful tone, Ash gets Pikachu out of the cage and hugs him, Pidgeot comes over and stands over Ash, Pikachu looks up shocked and amazed "Pi..ka" Pikachu says with a confused tone. Just then two Fearows and three Spearows fly into the opening and screech alerting their base that there are intruders, the Pidgeot attack the Fearow and Spearow but more come into the opening, it looks like they will be captured but Pidgeot screeches as the Pidgeotto come flying down the staircase with Meowth in their claws, they fly into the opening throwing Meowth at the Fearow and Spearow as the Pidgeotto and Pidgeot grab Ash and Pikachu and fly away, Ash holding on to Pikachu is shocked that they just sacrificed Meowth getting captured to get out of the base.
