The next week flew by and Hermione and Draco grew ever closer. It was 2 days until term restarted, and the Hogwarts express would be coming back with all the students tomorrow afternoon. Hermione was meeting Draco again that night in the Gryffindor perfect common room, making the most of their last night of it being free before they had to find a new spot to meet up.

She made her way there and found he was already waiting for her when she got there. Hermione went in and sat down on the sofa next to Draco. She had been worrying all day about what was going to happen with their relationship once everyone had returned.

'Hello,' she said, 'you okay? I can't believe how quickly these last few weeks have gone by, everyone is back tomorrow!'

'I know yeah' replied Draco, 'I almost wish they were never coming back, I've been enjoying this time with you so much.'

'Yeah I've really enjoyed hanging out with you too, Draco. I've been meaning to ask you though, do you still want to see me when everyone comes back? I mean, I completely understand if you don't, I'm sure your friends would disapprove of us being together.'

'I don't really have any friends anymore, Hermione.' said Draco sadly, 'and of course I want to still see you, I have no shame in people knowing we are together but I was worried you'd be the opposite. I mean, Potter and Weasley are hardly going to take it very well if they find out we are seeing each other.'

'I know, I'm a bit scared to tell them really. It's awkward enough being around Ron already, I can't begin to imagine what it's going to be like once I tell them. I think Harry will come round though; don't you remember, he saved your life and you saved his after all, and he knows that your allegiance changed before the end of the war. But that's still not going to make it any easier.'

'Well take your time, don't rush into telling them if you're not ready. I'm just glad to spend any time with you and don't want it to stop, even if it is in private.' He replied.

They chatted for a while, talking about what people would say if they found out they were seeing each other. It worried Hermione; she knew none of her friends would approve. But she really liked Draco. Surely they'd accept it if they knew it was what she wanted - they would just want her to be happy wouldn't they? Only time would tell, she thought.

Draco didn't care what anyone close to him thought about his and Hermione's relationship; they had all made such bad decisions themselves that he didn't care for their opinions, so it didn't bother him. He was just worried about what Hermione's friends and family would think of him. He knew the Weasleys would never approve, and it would make Hermione even more outcast from their family after what happened with Ron. But Harry, Draco reckoned he would accept it once he had come to terms with the initial shock of their relationship. He knew Hermione the best, and surely he would be able to see that this is what was right for her, that Draco could make her happy again.

The next evening arrived, and Hermione put her robes on to head down to the Great Hall for the welcome back feast. Harry, Ron and Ginny were already sat at the Gryffindor table when she arrived, and she took a seat next to Ginny.

'Hi everyone, good Christmas?' She asked.

'Yeah, really good actually, wish you'd been there' replied Harry. 'How was yours? Get up to anything fun to keep you busy?'

Hermione's face blushed as she thought of her secret romance with Draco.

'Fun? Err... no. Just the usual, you know reading and stuff.' She replied, trying to not give away anything. At that very moment she looked up and caught Draco's glance from the Slytherin table. He winked at her and she blushed even more and looked down at her plate, trying to hide her smile. Harry gave her a look as if to say he knew she was hiding something, but she ignored his glance; she'd tell him when the time was right.

After the feast, they all headed back to the Gryffindor common room. Harry took Hermione to the side.

'When are you going to speak to Ron? I think it's best to do it sooner rather than later. He even said to me over Christmas that he just wants things to go back to normal with you two, friends like you always were before. He misses you Hermione.' Said Harry.

'Really? He said he missed me? I miss him too Harry you know I do, we had such a good friendship. I'll speak to him this week I promise.' She replied.

'That's good to hear. The golden trio back together again.' Replied Harry with a laugh, 'I want to ask as well, there's something you're hiding from me I can tell. What happened over the holidays?'

Hermione was shocked by his question, and stared at him with a stunned look, not knowing what to say.

'Um.., well, er....' she started, 'I can't tell you just yet. You'll find out soon I promise. I'm going to bed anyway, the feast has tired me out. Goodnight, Harry.'

And with that she said her goodbyes to the others in the common room and headed up to bed. All that was running through her mind was Draco, she couldn't stop thinking about him.
