"I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book!"
Jane Austen"Good morning, Akaashi!" Mei greeted him cheerfully, laughing when she saw his shoulders droop in response.
"Good morning," he replied anyway, setting down the book he had been reading to look at her.
"Ooh, whatcha reading?"
He looked back down to the book for a moment, lifting it for her to see before telling her, "Pride and Prejudice."
"I love that one! What part are you at?" She smiled, taking the seat next to him before the rest of the class would arrive.
I seriously woke up early in the hopes he'd be here, he better talk to me.
"Mr. Collins is proposing to Elizabeth." Akaashi responded plainly, reopening the book immediately.
"That part is iconic! Okay, okay, sorry for disturbing you. You can read." Mei smiled, folding her legs as she rested her chin in her hand, and Akaashi raised his brows back at her.
"You're not going to talk to me?" He looked at her from behind the book, and she sent him a wink.
"Nope. I'll just watch you."
"Please don't." He deadpanned, and Mei laughed before taking out her phone.
"Don't worry! I'm kidding. I'll be writing on my phone, so just pretend I'm not here."
Akaashi let out another sigh, bringing his attention back to the book in front of him while Mei opened her notes app.
She peeked at him a few times, taking note of the way he licked the very tip of his index finger before flipping a page.
Or the way he leaned in his seat lazily, letting his legs stretch out in front of him as he supported the weight of his head with just two fingers connected to his temple.
Or the very subtle changes that appeared on his face when he read something funny, or embarassing, letting the edge of his lip curl upward slightly.
I'm basically staring now.
She shook her head slightly, looking back down to her phone to input her findings.
– into classic literature
– needs reading glasses maybe? lots of squintingWith a sigh, she closed that note and instead opened one that contained her daily writing prompts. She quickly got to work formulating a short plot for today's prompt, which asked her to write a fictional reason for the circular motion of the planets.
This isn't really my type of writing, but whatever.
Akaashi continued to read while the girl began typing away furiously at her phone, both of them sat in a comfortable yet eery silence.
"What's up, losers? Do we have an assignment due or something?" Sho greeted them as soon as he entered the nearly empty classroom, shoving his hands into the pockets of his uniform.
