Once upon a time, inside a small village, a little cottage sat, surrounded by a field of flowers. The house had a warm feeling, and was homely look. Inside this cottage lived an old lady and two children. The old lady took care of them, as their mother had passed away in an carriage accident, and their father abandoned them. The little boy was adventurous, short, and a little pudgy. He usually forgets to think before he acts, leading to some unusual happenings in the little town. The girl, on the other hand, was tall, skinny, and calculating. She was usually keeping her brother in check, as she assumed the most responsibilities around the house.

As usual, they were exploring in the back garden. The little boy was digging in the dirt, trying to find the treasure he heard about in grandmas fairytales. The girl was seated on a nearby stump, absorbed in her currant book. It was a sunny, warm day with a cool breeze, and the little boy couldn't help but start to fall asleep. But before he could, they heard a strange noise. Suddenly, a small door appeared on the stone garden wall. The girl was amazed, but cautious. Carefully, she held up her book as a weapon and waited. Nothing came out.  Still in shock, she  grabbed her brother, who had been watching, and headed inside the cottage.  She figured they might aswell explore were the door went too, as it seemed that nothing was living in it.  As she grabbed some water bottles, a small dagger, and dried food. Her brother packed his small wooden sword, and a jar of substance he found on his grandmas shelf.

The girl was ready. She called her brother, who came running while putting the jar in his bag. As they headed out the door, and ran down the steps into the field of flowers, they  didn't look back.  Once they reached the door, the little boy got down on his knees and climbed through, disappearing through the blackness of it. The girl shortly followed, not noticing a shadow behind her.
