This Isn't How It Was Supposed to Be

Bonus Chapter

It has now been 8 months since Hiccup proposed and found out Astrid was carrying his child, to just take some time off Astrid sent him out to go on a nice enjoyable flight with Toothless and have some fun for once

Ever since he found out he was a father, him and Toothless have been very protective around her and she doesn't blame them it just shows her how much they care, and when Hiccup's parents found out about her pregnancy they were over the moon and were spending so much time with her, and Stoick started calling her his 'future daughter in law' alot more often and she really liked that

She couldn't wait until the baby arrived and when it does she hopes Hiccup will be right there with her, holding her hand and never letting go until he hears his child's first cries, what a feeling

Somewhere out in the world Hiccup and Toothless were flying together having the time if their lives

Toothless rocketed across the water with Hiccup laying flat on his stomach enjoying the wind in his face

They came across a pack of Thunderdrums and Toothless dipped and dived all around them, Hiccup then jumped back into his normal riding position and quickly closed Toothless' tail making them do a barrel role over one of the Thunderdrums

"Yeah!" Hiccup yelled as they soared into the clouds flying higher and higher, they flew upside down, span in spirals and ascended in upward spirals before free falling and spinning back into their normal flight

As try came across a pack of Razor Wings Hiccup folded his grips and had an idea "what do ya think bud? you wanna give this another shot" he asked, Toothless just groaned in response "Toothless, it'll be fine" he said as he opened up the prosthetic tail and locked it into position "ready?" he said and he leaned over and fell off Toothless' saddle diving through the clouds

Toothless soon caught up and the two dived in a synchronised spiral "yeah" Hiccup said as the wind rushed through his hair, Toothless looked at him and gave him one of his signature gummy smiles letting his tongue flap about in the wind

The ocean came into view and Hiccup knew it was time for some fun, he slipped his hands through two loops at his ankles and pulled them out reviling two gliding wings and he soared upwards with Toothless copying his every move

They soared through clouds having the wing in their face and over their bodies "This is amazing" Hiccup yelled as he skimmed the top of a cloud and flew through another, his fun was interrupted when a very familiar voice came to his ears "HICCUP!" it yelled "dad?" Hiccup said as he looked below him and saw his dad and Skullcrusher below him "up here dad" Hiccup yelled

Stoick saw his son and immediately order Skullcrusher to go higher, he pulled up along side Hiccup and smiled "at it again are you" he said sarcastically with a smile "there is a time for everything" Hiccup said grinning under his mask "but not this Hiccup" Stoick said with fear in his eyes "what's wrong?" Hiccup asked, the. Another too familiar voice came beside him "It's to do with Astrid son" Valka said rising through the clouds with Cloudjumper

"Is she okay?" Hiccup said scared "well if you think birth is okay then no it's not okay" Valka said with a huge smile "it's time son, Astrid has gone into labor" Stoick said, then Hiccup's eyes went wider than a pair of chickens as he realised how important this is for him "no longer amazing" Hiccup gasped "TOOTHLESS!" he yelled and he flapped his wings a hard as he could catching upto his rider and catching him on his saddle

Hiccup got into his proper rising position and unlocked the tail and turned around in direction for Berk "let's see what you got bud, fast as you can go....my child is coming" Toothless roared and with a huge flap of his wings and spikes glowing he shot off ahead of Stoick and Valka leaving them in his dust "wow, remind me never to make that dragon angry" Stoick said jokingly as he chuckled "come on Stoick, our grandchild is here" Valka said and they flew after Hiccup to Berk as fast as they could

Astrid screamed in pain as another contraction hit her, she was laid on her bed with Gothi, Gobber and Fishlegs with her trying to keep her calm and her temperature down "you're doing great Astrid just hang in there" Fishlegs said gripping he hand which was a mistake as another contraction and Astrid gripped his hand so tight a loud crack could be heard and Astrid gasped as she looked at Fishlegs' now mangled hand "oh my gods, I'm so sorry Fishlegs" Astrid said

"It's okay Astrid, ill just sit down for now" he said wincing in pain and holding his broken fist, the door then burst open and Hiccup ran inside while Toothless and Stormfly watched guard at the door, Hiccup ran over to her side and kissed her "oh my gods Astrid are you okay?" He said, Astrid smiled and nodded weekly "yes I'm....FINE!" she screamed as another contraction hit her "okay scratch that....I'm not fine" she said

Hiccup laughed and gripped her hand not letting go "be careful she might break your hand" Fishlegs said as he got his bandaged by Gobber "ill be fine Fishlegs" Hiccup said giving him an assuring smile, Gothi then nodded and wrote something in the sand "what's she saying Gobber?" Hiccup asked "she says that it's time, the baby is ready to come to it's parents" he said

Just then Stoick and Valka ran in and took their places, Valka helping with the birth and Stoick comforted Hiccup "Stoick, Gobber can you wait outside with Hiccup please" Valka said and the men all nodded and started to make their way outside, Hiccup quickly planted a kiss on Astrid's forehead and smiled "I love you" he said "I love you too" Astrid replied softly as she watched the two large men walk Hiccup out her house and close the door behind them

"Okay Astrid, you ready" Valka asked looking at the terrified girl, she gave a small nod in response and smiled "okay, ready......PUSH!"
