Resurfacing

(I had to wrote this for an English task, about a stressed or lonely person)

The pressure on my heart is building,

Heavier and heavier, always getting heavier,

I can't feel it beating, anymore,

I can't feel myself breathing, anymore.

A machine,

Set to routine,

Always working,

Always thinking,

A never-ending chasm

Of pure emotion.

-#-

I stand in the cold, dark night

Aches and pains, always feeling pain,

I don't care for living anymore,

I don't care for myself anymore.

A tissue,

For each issue,

Keep it all in,

Don't just suffer,

I'm searching for a quick escape now,

I need a quick way out.

-#-

She works like a machine, this girl,

Moving from day to the next,

In continuous, swift motion,

Nothing can get in her way,

She is so strong.

No one talks to her though,

No one looks at her though,

No one knows how to,

And they can't bear to try,

They have fear of mistakes.

-#-

They ask "What's wrong?" And in my mind,

Everything goes blank as a white sheet,

I don't know what to say, and time flows by.

They go on with life, not caring so much,

Leaving my darkness behind.

I'm nearly there,

I'm nearly free,

Somebody help me,

Pull me up,

The path is clear.

-#-

I hear a shout "Hello!" I call.

Into the darkness, a faces emerges.

"Help" they say, their voice so quiet.

I kneel down beside her

To lend her my time.

I asked.

She answered.

I advised.

She listened.

Maybe soon

She can smile again.

-#-

I can see her happier already,

A week since her cry for help,

We talk about the flaws in life,

We talk about the beauty in life,

And I have seen her lovely smile.

All it takes

Is conversation

To bring you up.

You resurfaced from the depths of your heart,

You can see now, the happiness inside,

Your life is brighter,

And you can help others

Feel the same way.
