A flighter dressed in a pure black suit walks in minutes later, retrieving me for surgery. "If you want, you may come." He says gesturing to Bri, "but I'm not sure you want to witness him in pain. Even though he will be sedated, he will twitch and scream." "I would like to come." Bri finalizes. The man brings in a wheelchair for me and leaves the room with a nod. I climb into the wheelchair and Bri pushes me through the doorway, the door closing automatically behind us. Bri hums a delightful tune, her voice beautiful even when humming. Bri grabs my good hand and kisses it, we follow the suited man into a big room with a metal table, with straps on the sides, for my feet and arms. I gape at the table, around it are small metal trays on tables by the bedside. Filled with scalpels, syringes, scissors and objects I don't even know what to call. We walk into the room and the man leaves. A small lamp above the bed hangs, letting off unsteady beams of light, flashing frequently. "Hello, I am Sofia. I will be operating on you today," a voice from the door says. I turn around and see a woman, probably in her early twenties, walking towards me and Bri. "We'll be needing to first take some X-rays, to see where your injuries are originating from. Then we'll be able to fix you right up." Bri leaves my side and introduces herself to the surgeon. "Pleased to meet you Bri, I'm so glad that you two have joined our cause." She walks over to me and shakes my good hand, "Titus, I cannot fathom the bravery you have, abandoning your old life, so we can finally bring peace to our broken country." Sofia says. "Titus if you could please lie on the table so we can take an X-ray." Sofia kindly orders. Bri helps me onto the table, pain shooting up through my body with each movement. I softly get onto the table and lower my head onto the metal. A panel comes up through the floor, and Sofia presses various buttons. When she presses each one the panel makes small beeping sound. "Just stay still okay, Titus." Sofia tells me, "oh and Bri if you could let go of his hand." Bri releases her iron tight grip on my hand and steps away from the table. After fiddling with the panel for some more time, Sofia brings all five fingers together on the panel, then spreads her fingers out. A purring sound comes from a machine above, then suddenly a blue laser as wide as the table, quickly runs over my body. The laser then runs itself over my body arm to arm. Then makes a grid on my body, but this time it stays still, the grid sitting there for a minute. When the blue light vanishes, another screen slides up from the floor just as large as the table. Displaying my bones, I see my brain too. Then I see my injuries, my arm is completely shattered, bones scattering around my skin. My foot isn't as bad but is the same, walking on it probably made it all the worse. My teeth are gone but some still remain, some pieces stuck in my gums. "well Titus I'm going to be honest with you. This is much worse than I thought. It looks like your arm is gone, you won't be able to use it again, it's shattered so severely, we may have to amputate it and give you a new prosthetic." Sofia says remorsefully. "Although your foot, isn't as bad, but we will have to sever your toes and give you new ones. I'm guessing that since your injury you've been walking on it. And your teeth, we will have to reassemble your teeth and give you some new ones as well as tear some out." Sofia finishes, me and Bri process her words, after minutes of looking at the X-ray, Sofia says. "Your surgery will begin immediately, if you could please lay out on the table, That'd be great." Sofia taps on a microphone icon on her panel, "Assistant, Marcy, and nurse Mucallahugh. Please report to room four for Titus Shield's surgery." I lie back down on the table, taking a deep breath in, trying to calm my nerves, Bri leans over me and kisses me on the cheek. "You know, the first time I met you, we were both orphans. My mom and yours both died. I saw you digging through a trash can looking for scraps of food like an animal." I turn my head a bit and see Sofia listening intently to Bri's story. "You heard me step towards you and looked at me, crazed and hungry. From the first moment I looked into your blue and green eyes, I knew I loved you. There was a deep pain in your eyes, homeless, hungry, and alone. So, so alone, Titus. I creeped closer to you a piece of stale, burnt bread in my bony, and underfed hand. You creeped closer to me as well then slowly reached your hand out for the bread. I gave you the bread, and our friendship, and love has only grown ever since." Bri wipes a small tear from her face, sniffling quietly. Marcy, and Macallahugh walk in after Bri is finished with our story. "Macallahugh, Marcy, this is Titus and Bri our newest recruits." Sofia introduces us. Considering my teeth I don't dare speak but I shake their hands and Bri the same. "We're ready whenever you are Titus," Marcy says. I nod my head in confirmation. Bri lets go of my hand and I see Macallahugh bring an IV to my wrist inserting it into my good arm. "Sleep tight Titus," Sofia says. Then she brings a mask to my face and I'm knocked out.

I wake four hours later, no pain filling my body at all. The first thing that I feel is tingling in my arm. My arm! My bad arm, isn't bad anymore. I open my eyes, nobody sits around me, except for Bri of course. "Oh titus, I've been waiting for hours." I sit up and stare at my arm. My last arm is now metallic and shiny. My arm up to my elbow, looks normal, but silver. My foot is metal too. "Bri I thought they were just fixing my toes?" I ask, "no apparently, they thought it was necessary." Is all she says. "Sofia said that you wouldn't stand until," Bri tries, but I'm already up, "or stand up." My new parts, feel amazing, and sleek, I move my fingers in my new arm and I realize something. "I can move this thing! That's awesome!" I swing my arms around in relief and jump in the air. "They said tht there was some permanent paint that they could spray on them to make them seem normal." Bri acknowledges. I smile, my teeth, I bring my normal hand up to them and feel them. They're all metallic too. "Holy shit, Bri they did serious work on me." I gape at myself. The door next to me opens, and Sofia walks in. Now she's dressed in normal clothes, "you've awakened." She smiles. "We've arrived at New Portland, and I, sure you'd like to try your new limbs." I grab Bri's hand and she stands up smiling. "But first." Sofia pulls out a bottle, and walks over to me. "Arm," she demands, she grabs my arm spraying it. My arm tingles and now looks like skin. She leans down to my foot and does the same. "Let's go." Sofia says walking out the door. Me and Bri exit the room hand in hand. We walk down various halls of the yacht until we reach the entrance that we came in at. Sofia stops at the door and looks back at us. "Get ready, for your new life, because it starts now." The door opens and a gust of wind blows in. Sunlight hits us, and I breathe in like its my last breath. Then smile down at Bri. "You ready?" "As ready as I'll ever be," she smiles back, I pull her into a kiss, the best kiss we've ever shared, I move my hand up to her back and my new one to her face. I pull back and say, "let's go no time to waste." I grab her hand, and we walk outside, the blinding sun shining in our colorful eyes. The first thing I notice, is the smell. Fresh air, filled with the aroma of pine, and saltwater. The city around us is enormous, filled with skyscrapers, megatrons, and most of all people. You would think that the air would be smog, and smoke, but no it's better than any air I've ever breathed. "If you two would follow me," Sofia says, I grip Bri's hand tighter and we walk onto the pavement. Sofia shows us to a normal blue car, once inside I see memo turn around at the wheel. "What the hell dude your only twelve how are you driving." Meeno scoffs, "hah bro you've got a lot to learn." He starts the engine and speeds off onto the main road. "Here, according to the flighters rules, you can drive at age ten. Considering that most of our cars drive themselves, so why not." Meeno says. He drives onto a side road and stops. Next to us are three sky scrapers. "Get out." Memo says, "this is the house." I get out of the car with Bri and Sofia behind me. "Floor one hundred five." Meeno shouts as Sofia closes the door. I stare up at the huge building, marveling at its height. Sofia opens the back door and we step into the sky scraper.
