At the age of 21, Jaehyun did not expect that he would have his mate that young. It's not a bad thing since most of his friends got their mates in his age but what worries and frustrates him is that he barely even knew who his mate was.

Jaehyun isn't really that stereotypical alpha. He prefers reading books in a silent afternoon, listens to ballads in the evening till he fell asleep, and loves eating pistachio ice cream rather than drinking black coffee.

In other words, Jaehyun may look intimidating on the outside but he is actually a soft babie once you get to see him behind his walls.

"Look at our babygirl, all grown up and getting ready to meet his mate." Johnny teased his roommate as he helped him pick up some decent clothes for a family dinner.

This isn't just an ordinary family dinner. The Jungs decided to host a get together with a family friend of theirs, it would also be the time where Jaehyun will get to meet his mate.

"Oh shut up man, if only I could ditch this." Jaehyun's brows furrowed as he arranges his dresshirt and checks himself at the mirror.

"Why are you so worked up though? You're gonna meet your mate tonight."

"That is why I want to ditch dinner, I don't want to be involved in such shits."

"Hey don't be too harsh, what if your parents set you up with a pretty omega? You lucky boy!" Johnny kind of nudged Jaehyun's arm hard causing the other male to rub it.

Him and Johnny are total opposites in terms of being an alpha, sometimes Jaehyun wonders why they were even friends. Johnny is a typical alpha, he's part of the varsity when they were still in highschool and he is very intimidating. Just one look, people can tell that he's one dominant alpha.

"Pretty or not, I don't really care. I just want to live a peaceful life, John."

"You can still be peaceful once you're mated. Ten and I don't even have any problems so far."

"Yeah because you two weren't set up." Jaehyun checked his wrist watch and then let out a heavy sigh.

"I guess I should better go now, mom wouldn't stop calling me if I'll be late even just for a minute." He then grabbed his coat and walked to the door.

Jaehyun arrived quite early at the restaurant, his parents followed afterwards. Currently they were sitting on their reserved dinner table while waiting for the other family, which were their guests, to arrive. Jaehyun's mother noticed his son's frown while the guy was playing with his spoon and fork.

"Stop fidgeting Jae and please put up a smile just for tonight." Jaehyun's mother requested but his request made Jaehyun furrowed his brows.

"How could I even smile when I told you guys a hundred times that I'm not interested with mating."
