12:00am - Meg: Happy birthday beautiful <3
Normani looked down at her phone with a timid smile. It was almost as if Megan counted down to 12 just to say happy birthday, Normani knew she was kidding herself by thinking that but it was still a nice thought.
12:05am - Meg: Sorry your birthday is during quarantine, i wish i could've took you somewhere
Normani hadn't even noticed the 3 bubbles pop up, too caught up in the thought of Megan. She also couldn't believe how she left Megan's thread open and ignored all the other incoming birthday messages. So she may have had a thing for Megan but she had to remind herself that they were just friends and nothing more.
She sighed before mustering up a response to the older woman.
12:07am - Normani: Thank you gorgeous & lol, it's fine... maybe next year.
She smiled before leaving the thread and going into another one. She read the words 'happy birthday' but this time from her friend, Tacir. She replied a thank you before Megan responded, wasting no time and clicking the message.
12:09am - Megan: Maybe if it's okay with you then we can make the best of it
Normani knitted her eyebrows together, clearly confused on what the older woman meant by that.
12:10am - Megan: meaning I can come over and we can celebrate, just us two
Normani couldn't help but smile a little, trying her hardest to suppress it because Megan was just being friendly.
12:11am - Normani: right now?
Megan replied with quickness, a simple "right now" answering Normani's question and she couldn't say no. So of course she sent an okay and Megan said she'd be on her way in a little while.

Normani perked up when she got the "I'm outside" text, she jetted to the door but tried to calm herself down once she stood in front of it. Normani didn't want to give off how excited she was, there was absolutely no reason for Megan to think she was into her even if she was.
"Hi beautiful." Was the first thing Normani heard when she opened her front door, there stood Megan dressed in all black with an oversized bag and a bottle of wine in her hand.
Normani felt heat rush to her cheeks from the comment whilst opening the door wider so Megan could enter her home and mumbling a shy "Hi."
"24, huh?" Megan said as Normani closed the door, just trying to create conversation and not get caught staring at Normani's legs that were exposed due to the dolphin shorts she sported.
Megan also noticed that Normani repierced her belly button due to the crop top hoodie she wore.
"Yup, I'm closer to you."
Megan giggled, she and Normani had this ongoing joke about Normani being just a year younger. Megan was always just teasing and Normani knew that.
"Slow your roll, I'm still older."
Normani playfully rolled her eyes as she locked the door, making her way to the couch where Megan was heading also.
"You act like you're so much older."
"I know I'm not, I just like annoying you." Megan winked as they both plopped down onto different couches.
Normani earned a look from Megan. "Why you all the way over there? C'mere." Slipped past Megan's lips as she sat the wine onto the table.
