Here I am with a serious issue and this page will not have sarcasm or jokes. I love and enjoy your guy's funny comments and the love you give through it but I would request you to not joke over this page. This is serious and if you will joke over this then sorry you are not a human being. In case, you write such stories, then you should consider rethinking about your story.

Without beating around the bush, the topic I am going to talk about is rape. Rape in any way (marital rape, gang rape). I know many have made a point at this place but it is actually never enough to point at it. For general information: I am not trying or wanting to mock at anyone or blame any individual. In case, you don't write or read it, please read this post.

Let's go back once to school basis:
Rape's definitions in the Cambridge dictionary: (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/rape)
    ~ to force someone to have sex when he or she is unwilling, using violence or threatening behaviour
    ~ (an example of) the crime of forcefully having sex with someone against their wishes
    ~ to damage or destroy something by using it in an unsuitable way

Back to Wattpad:
Despite many knowing the fact, rape is considered to be something harmless and simplified by writers.
The rapist? Obviously (to make a 'good' plot) the male lead.
Some writers make the rapist a stranger, other choose to show rape inside a marriage.
The end of the story (often)? The rape victim falls in love with her rapist, and they have a happy ever after.

But guys is it that easy? Have you ever talked to someone who has been raped? Or even read about it? The trauma behind those some hours of someone's Lust? Just for your own story's purpose you literally make fun of other's suffering.
Probably you think, it is just a story. But guess what a rape survivor will feel like, if he/she reads your story. This can hurt someone's sentiments to the core but for the story's sake it's simplified as almost nothing.

To the reader's of such a story: Some of you raise point at it but many say nothing about it, instead the story. And trust me if I say, more vulgar than the story are the comments. It is not only the writer's faults to write such stories, it is you as well. Readers are the pillars of the writers and if readers point it out then writers would think about such stories as well. But what happens mostly on fandoms: People don't see the person's doings. They see who does it.

If it is the typical villain, readers will curse him and abuse him.
If it is the male lead, readers will find excuses to justify his behaviour.
This is not only the peak of hypocrisy but also really disgusting.

These are one kind of the stories. Then there are those stories, which show rape by some random person still the rape is justified. I have been really disturbed some days before about a plot.

The plot was something like this(For example purposes): A girl gets gang raped by two men and reaches the hospital. The male lead is a good friend of hers and her forceful boyfriend's (the boyfriend was her best friend before) elder brother. A day after the rape the survivor is more concerned about her love from whom she's separated since before 5 years. There is no inner turmoil of hers. Almost 5 days later the rape was a long forgotten thing and the lead's love story was shown. Things get even better when her best friend gets forgiveness from her, when he indirectly helped the rapists to reach her.

I just felt anger on myself for needing to read something like this. There is a trauma of years behind such an incident but things are just simplified to nothing.

Please stop simplifying rape and don't even try playing that 'it happens across many households of India' card. It is not nothing. It is a struggle of weeks, months and even years. Out of thousands of rape cases not even all are legally registered. Even lesser people get justice for it. The day you start normalizing such heinous acts is the day when the mentality of our country or any other country is going to doom. Romanticising such things will only add fuel to the fire.
