Zhari sat at her desk going through the Jackson Corp. file. She'd been going through it all day making sure that everything was up to date and that there was nothing out of the ordinary going on. She didn't really trust the small company, but one to give people chances, she'd decided that she would give them a chance, one chance, by taking them on. Oh, but she wasn't stupid. She had one of the two people she trusted most in the world go and apply for a job there so that she could have an inside man, or in this case an inside woman, to keep an eye on things so that she wasn't fucked over.
A knock sounded at her office door and she called for them to come in.
"I'm sorry to bother you, Ms. Jameson, but there is a Mrs. Facinelli is here to see you." Anna, her assistant said at the door.
Zhari raised a brow. "Really?"
"Yes. She says she needs to speak to you right away."
"Okay. Tell her I'm busy and will see her in about seven minutes." Zhari stated with a smile.
"If she asks what you're busy doing, what shall i tell her?" Anna asked.
"Hell, tell her I'm finishing the last chapter of the Twilight series." She laughed.
"Okay, Ms. Jameson."
"Stop calling me that, Anna. It's Zhari."
Anna's cheeks flushed red. "Apologies, Zhari." She said before she closed her door.
She sat back in her chair and rested her head on the back of it, her arms resting on the arm rests. She was a little curious as to why Kelly Facinelli was here to see her. They had nothing to talk about - or at least she, Zhari, didn't.
"I don't give a fuck what you just said, you dumb bitch! I'm not waiting out here with you!" She heard Kelly snap.
Zhari was up and out of her chair and around her desk in a matter of seconds. She snatched open her office door just as Kelly was pushing pass Anna.
"There you are. We nee -"
"Apologize to Anna." Zhari stated.
"What?" Kelly asked with a look of confusion.
"You were rude to Anna, my assistance, and you called her a bitch. So, fucking apologize to her. Now."
"No. I told her I needed to talk to you and she came out here with some bullshit story that you were reading fucking Twilight." She hissed.
"She was doing her job. So, you can either apologize to her or I will dog walk you the hell out of this building. You choose." Zhari said as she folded her arms and rested all her weight on her right leg.
Kelly stared at her for a moment before she turned to Anna. "I'm -"
"Say it like you mean it." Zhari said.
"Huh. Look, I'm sorry for being rude and calling you a bitch. I really am." Kelly said.
Kelly turned to Zhari. "Happy?"
"Very. Now, what do you want? Why are you here?" Zhari asked.
"I need to talk to you about my husband." Kelly said as she followed her into her office, closing the door behind her.
"We have nothing to discus when it comes to your egotistical and narcissistic husband." Zhari threw over her shoulder as she walked to her chair and sat down.
Just then her office door opened and a little blind haired girl stuck her head inside.
"Mom, I'm hungry. Can i have some money to get something out of the vending machine?"
"Charlotte, get out! Mommy is talking to someone!" She yelled.
Zhari glared at Kelly.
"What the hell is your - Charlotte?" She called her before she could close the door.
"Yes?" Charlotte stuck her head back inside.
"Come here, sweetie."
She smiled at the little girl as she hesitantly open the door wide enough to step inside. She watched her look at Kelly before she rushed behind the desk next to her.
Zhari reached into her desk for her wallet and pulled out a fifty dollar bill. "I want you to take this and have Anna, my assistant right out front, take you down to the lunch area and get you whatever you want, alright?"
Charlotte looked at her mother then Zhari. "Really?"
"Yeah. You can keep whatever is left, okay? Maybe save it for a new toy you might want."
Zhari held out her hand. "Im Zhari. It's nice to meet you, Charlotte."
"You, too, Zhari." Charlotte said before she rushed out of the office, closing the door behind her.
"I don't need you doing any favors for my child." Kelly snapped.
"Yeah? Well, I won't let you starve a child, or yell at her, in my office or my presence." She spat. "She told you she was hungry. All you had to do was give her some money to get herself a bite to eat."
Kelly rolled her eyes.
"I'm doing my best not to call your ignorant ass out of your name, but keep rolling those eyes and I'm going to snatch them out."
She swallowed. "Look, I need you to stay the hell away from my husband."
"Please. As if I go looking for him. Your husband is the one you need to talk to about that." She took a swallow from her water bottle. "Control him. You've given him way to much leash room that he's roaming all in my yard."
"No one controls Chase." She stated.
She looked Kelly up and down. "I guess not. Trouble in the bedroom, huh?"
"Excuse me?" Kelly gasped.
"Come on. If the sex was any good he wouldn't be chasing after other women." Zhari put it out there on the table.
Kelly glared at her.
"For your information, our sex life is better than ever. He only wants you because he's never fucked a black woman before and he's curious."
"Well, rest assure that I don't want your husband nor do I have any interest in being his walk on the dark side." Zhari pushed to her feet and pointed to the door. "Now, get the hell out of my office."
Kelly scoffed and stood up and headed out the door, but not before Zhari called for her attention. "What?"
"Stop yelling at and taking your frustrations out on that little girl. It's not her fault you're in a loveless marriage."
