•Chapter Seventeen•

I wasn't really expecting Ace to confess something he felt for me. Questions still left me behind - was it true? Did he mean it? Or was it just another part of his shenanigans?

I groaned and closed my eyes for a while. I took the day off today and I am glad Teddy let me because I wasn't really feeling well maybe from the thoughts that had swarmed my mind for a while now.

Thankfully, my life had been doing quite well making it more bearable. I mean I could seem a bit dramatic but I just want to have a normal life where I could finally be happy and peaceful.

I missed going to school like a normal teenager that is why I enrolled to a different school, it was such an adventure because I have to go and ask permission to Teddy to let him be my guardian by paper though I wasn't really sure if he would say yes and I am glad he did.

And since then Teddy would accompany me if ever I would have an appointment to the principal's office.

I got my new pair of uniforms that Teddy got me as a gift. I had cried for almost an hour because I am so glad I have met Teddy and his wife.

Oh and I will start next week which was to early but I don't blame them considering I have enrolled pretty late and classes still continued.

The school - Cromville University was nice and peaceful hopefully the students would be as nice as the school. But I couldn't be that weak now, right? I have to stand up for myself or to anyone else because I don't like anyone experiencing the cruel life that I have experienced at my old school.

I mentally patted myself for being brave now. And I sighed when I realized the conversation Ace and I have earlier. This is a bit difficult than expected.

I opened my phone which I had purchased newly - I feel giddy again - to open my Instagram account and I heard a ping which means a new notification. I opened it and saw Colton following me. I smiled and followed him back, seconds later I hear a ping again and saw Colton messaging me.

: hey:)

I smiled and replied again. We went back and forth messaging each other on Instagram but I have to go to work tomorrow so I have to sleep early.

: have to go to work early, srry

: yea, is'fine. tho i feel sad

: sorry, i'll talk to you tom yea?

: sure can't wait.

: ok

The next morning, I prepared early because I don't want to keep Teddy waiting and so I have to move faster.

Arriving the cafe, it was full packed which was surprising since we only got ten customers every morning and this one was so full.

"Erika, dear. Come help us" Lucy called me when she saw me enter the door.

"Sorry, I kept you guys waiting." I apologized sincerely because I was stuck in traffic a while ago.

"It is fine sweetheart. We were stuck in traffic earlier and so was you and it would be unfair if we scold you when we are late too"

I nodded and smiled. She smiled back and ushered me to the changing rooms to wear proper clothes such as my apron.

Smiling, I proceeded to go serve and take orders until the customers started to vanish one by one when they finally got their orders most likely the coffee or tea.

I cleaned the counter table while waiting for another customer because it is just me here since I had let Teddy and Lucy rest for a while and my co-worker hadn't arrived yet.

"Hey" Someone called. I raised my head and was shocked it was Colton.

"Colton?"

"Yeah that's me"

"What can I get for you?"

"Hm?" He looked over the menu screen behind me while tapping his chin like a child getting ideas.

"I'd get a large macchiato please just the regular"

"Okay. Anything else, sir?" I smiled sheepishly at him and he shook his head at my antics.

"Yes, I would also like to get your number" I looked up and blushed at him.

"Cute" He pointed out and I blushed more that I think I have the reddest color of a tomato.

Eventually, he still got my number due to his constant pestering and I don't like it when he would make a line up behind him so I gave in to his antics.
