Chapter Nine

There was nothing I can see except the blurriness of the place in front of me. The lights were dim, making it even more difficult to decipher anything.

Bewildered and a little scared, I put my hands in front of me in hopes of touching something. I don't know what that something is. But I don't like not knowing where I am. It puts me on edge.

I jumped when another pair of hands grabbed hold of mine. Their fingers gliding on my skin, but instead of warmth, they felt cold and isolated.

All of a sudden white blinding light entered my vision and I closed my eyes involuntarily. When I opened them back again, I was greeted by darkness.

Though, it was completely pitch black. It didn't feel like I was alone, and it suffocated. I was always so afraid of darkness. I tried to walk forward but I couldn't move any part of my body. It's like I've lost control of my limbs.

I couldn't tap into my magical energy so my powers were useless.

An eerie male voice resonated from somewhere behind me, sending me chills.

You think you escaped me? How enlightening. You could try but I'll always find you.

What are they talking about?

The baby will be mine. No one can be more powerful than me. That purple stone will stop nothing.

Oh Melody.....always so beautiful, so cheerful, so alive.

Too bad your only two of those things now.

I see you Melody. I can see you.

I'll have to kill you again.

A white mask, the color of chalk fell from above. It was the only thing I could see clearly in the darkness. I snap out of my trance of shock and primary confusion.

I urged myself to step forward and sighed when my body finally complied. I walk towards the fallen object but stop short when hands held my ankles and kept me still.

I let out a scream when I felt nails digging into my skin, letting blood gush out. Hands grabbed my wrists roughly, also digging their nails into my pulse.

A man appeared in front of me. I couldn't see his face because it was blurry. He stepped on the mask making it crunch from beneath his feet.

He makes an incoherent noise before pushing me with so much force that the breath was knocked out of me.

My eyes snap open from the horridly confusing dream. The sweat beading on the side of my forehead and the throbbing of my throat indicated a rough sleep.

Everything about that dream or more so nightmare had been confusing and spine chilling. It was like abstract art.

I think it had something to do with me being supernatural, not sure. It was strange though. It felt so real.

What got me so scared is that they mentioned my mother and father's name. Melody and Valentine. How would they know my parents? Who were they? What did they have against my mother and father?
