Denim's POV
"You stayed here all night?" Julian questions walking out of Brandy's room.
I rolled my eyes. "What did you want me to do?"
"Leave and go find nurse to go fuck to make time go by faster." He says sitting across me.
I laughed. "I'm not as terrible as I look." I said to him. "Where's Christopher?"
"He left last night. He said that Alexander was tried of babysitting Charlotte for you. Apparently, he went to pack her things and bring her back to the house."
I didn't say anything. "Her birthday is coming up soon."
"What are you going to do?" Julian says sitting up straight.
I crossed my arms. "I'll probably get her whatever she wants."
He laughs. "Like what? A pony?"
I shook my head trying my hardest not to laugh. "If that's what she wants."
As soon as we brought Brandy to hospital, she was already unconscious. She did have a fractured rib, but it wasn't serious enough to get surgery. She ended up waking up for few hours unable to recall anything. Just being in the car.
I stayed with her over night as I knew she would keep waking up. I don't think she realized that she was taking to me.
"Daddy! Daddy!" Turning my head to side, Charlotte runs over to me. Scooping her up onto my lap, she wraps her arms around me. Hi. Dada." She says grinning.
I kissed the top of her head. "Hi Princess."
"I moved her stuff back into her room for you." Christopher says handing her a small bowl of cheerios. "Alexander said that you need to parent your child or somebody else will."
I scoffed. "I do parent Charlotte. I just choose to make sure that she's safer with somebody else."
Christopher sits next to me. "She is safe with you Denim. You just don't see it." He tells me. "By the way she needs to be changed and bathed." Christopher adds handing me her diaper bag.
"Call me when Brandy wakes up." I said to them. They nod.
Placing Charlotte on the floor, she walks along beside me as we leave the hospital. Getting into the car, I grabbed her carseat from the trunk. "Daddy?" She says as I buckle her in.
"Yes Princess."
"Where's Mommy? I want to play with her." Charlotte says looking up at me.
I didn't respond. "She'll be home soon."
"Okay!"
Brandy's POV
"Where's Brandy? Where's My Daughter?"
Fluttering my eyes open, I looked around the room. Christopher stood by the door talking to someone. I frowned.
"Christopher?" I said as my voice croaks.
He turns his attention to me. He walks over to me. "It's alright. Just get some more rest."
I groaned. "Who? Who's...saying...my-my name?" I asked him.
He doesn't say anything. "Don't worry about it. You'll be okay." He smiles.
I gently nod my head as he walks back to the door. This time he leaves the room closing the door behind him.
I hate being confided to a bed, but it's probably best that I don't force myself to sit up. "Brandy!?"
That sounds like my mother's voice. "Brandy? Oh my god! Brandy!"
It was her. Tears filled in her eyes as she saw me. "Oh. My poor baby. I'm sorry this happened to you." She says trying to hold back her tears.
"Hi Mom." I said softly.
"Brandy I'm going to take you home. Okay? Then we can start new." She says brushing my hair out of my face.
I nodded my head. Maybe I should just go back home. "Brandy I can't let you do that." Christopher says stepping in.
I frowned. "Christopher-"
"It's not going to happen Brandy. Just forget about it."
I didn't say anything. "Are you insane? Look At My Daughter! What If She Died? She Can Barely Move!" My mom snaps storming over to Christopher. "Are you parent?"
Christopher simply shakes his head. "That doesn't have to do with anything."
"If you had a child who's clearly being abused...you would do anything to protect your child at all costs even if that means other people are going to be hurt by it. So don't tell me that it's not going to happen. Causes it going to fucking happen." My mom says turning away from him.
"Mom-"
She sighs picking up her phone that started to ring. "Brandy I'll be right back. Okay?"
I nod.
"Brandy what are you doing?" Christopher asks sitting next to me. "Do you seriously want to go back home?"
"Maybe it'll be better if I go with my mom. Denim won't be able to hurt me anymore." I said to him. "I thought that's what everyone wanted. For me to be finally in a safe place where Denim can't hurt me."
Christopher doesn't say anything. "Denim isn't going to let this happen. He'll just find a way to bring you back." He tells me.
I shrugged. "I can try to talk to him."
He laughs. "You'll just anger him even more."
"Why don't you come visit me then? I mean in a few weeks when I can do things on my own." I suggested. "I don't think my parents will mind."
"Brandy I'm not going to stop you. You've been put through so much. It's not fair to you." Christopher says with a gentle smile. "But I'm going to miss your innocent face."
I laughed a little. "Thank you Christopher."
