Prologue
My stomach fluttered as his warm hands gripped the sides of my wet face, his lips crushing onto mine. I didn't object or approve, but I was relieved to feel the warmth I've been dying to get. This was real. I knew how wrong this was, that this was breaking all the rules. I threw my arms around his neck, tangling my hands into his chocolate hair. The rain pounded against us in this perfect moment. In the back of my mind, I heard the click of a pistol, then the slow motion sound of a gunshot. I didn't aknowledge what was happening.
I felt the weight of a body, and the weight of the guilt.
