Me: Does it need to be a special occasion to invite my friends to come over?

Oh Yoona: I miss you Yejin ah. I will come if my nanny can come over to look after my son.

Me: Bring him with you. So many imo-deul (aunties) will look after Min. I will make his favourite cheesecake

Lee Jung Hyun: Exactly. I was about to say the same thing. Is there anything you want to tell us??? Give us a hint or we won't come.

Me: Yah, you guys. Do you have to threaten me like that? Only those who come will know why. See you tomorrow. 😊😊😊

And the group chat is busy. I chose not to reply to it but definitely, they knew I want to tell them something hence I made the gathering. I always organized small gatherings for my friends but usually, I plan it much earlier. Impromptu invitations like this usually mean there is some announcement. For example, Lee Jung Hyun invites us to an impromptu dinner to announce she is getting married. My cinderella sisters are sharp so by now I know they already have few theories inside their heads.

As promised by 7 PM, all my Cinderella friends had arrived. Hyun Bin takes them to the yard while I am in the kitchen with ahjumma preparing all the food. Ahjumma wanted to do all but I have promised my friends to cook for them so ahjumma just assists and help out with the hard work. It's a good thing, my morning sickness is not as bad as before that I can do some work rather than just lying on the bed. I made mushroom cream pasta, pepperoni pizza, fresh salad with ricotta cheese, gnocchi in tomato sauce with chicken, and cheesecake. My friends love my Italian food that every time gathering at my house, they want me to cook Italian dishes. Ahjumma helps me to serve while I go to my room to change. I put on an oversized boyfriend top and maternity jeans which I just bought 2 days ago. I take a look at the mirror and make sure my baby bump is covered. I do not want to shock them before the announcement was made.

My friends and their respective spouses are enjoying the dinner and my husband is entertaining them as a co-host. I am still getting used to call him my husband but I am slowly liking it. "Yeobo," I called him and walks directly next to him. He puts his arm around my waist automatically.

"There you are Jagiya," he raised his voice slightly so that it can be heard by our guests. My friends turn to us.

"What took you so long?" Half of them asking in unison like a bunch of choral speaking group. From their eyes, I know they are scanning me to find answers. I walk to them to greet them properly and Bin continues to mingle with the guys.

"I need to change as I am sweating for cooking all these. Sorry to keep you waiting. How was the food?"

"You are the best Italian Chef among us, of course, we don't have any complaints," Lee Min Jung said. She is the no 1 fan of my cooking and she always asks for the recipe to try.

Gong Hyo Jin giving me her usual sharp glare, "Don't try to change the subject about food. Sit down and tell us what is this all about and why are you so quiet for almost 2 months and suddenly asking for gathering when you had missed a few with us?" As expected from Hyo Jin, the most straightforward person among the 7 of us. I like this personality of hers, she doesn't like to keep things for too long. She is the type to get things done quickly without thinking much. To her, solve it and think about it along the way. That's the feisty Hyo Jin.
