"Isn't he in Azkaban?"- Harry asked.
"Yes, but he promised myself he would escape it. And take everything away from me."- he gulped- "After you spoke for me and my mother at court, uhm, thank you for that by the way.. well he tried to curse me, but the spell didn't reach me. So, I've decided to have something handy in case of needing it."
"In case he escapes, you mean."
"Yes, Potter."
"That's smart"
"I'm flattered."
"And you're showing me this because...?"
"Because you're here with me now. If something happens, you gotta know what to do."- Draco stated. –"To protect yourself."
"Are you worried about my safety Draco?"- Harry played.
At this, Draco didn't answer, leaving the Gryffindor even more curious. He left the room and Harry followed him until they were in the Slytherin's room.
"I have to go to Gringotts, make sure the money was sent. You decide if you stay or not. But.. I would really like it if you did.."- Draco said the last sentence a little louder.
Harry smiled at this new version of Draco, who was still a git, but a soft git when it came to Harry's well being. He stared at him and said:
"I will. But I gotta do something as well. I promise I will not die."
"Please, Potter, like you dying was even possible."- Draco rolled his eyes
Harry left the Malfoy Manor, not after owling Hermione to meet him at the Three Broomsticks. He knew Hermione wouldn't leave his side, not before hearing his version of the events, even if it meant being having Ron mad at her for a few days. She knew Ron wouldn't be able to not speak to her more than 48hours, so she wasn't really worried about it. In fact, she felt in peace because she wouldn't hear both words "Harry" and "Bloody hell" for the next 2 days.
"Hi Harry"- she smiled softly at her friend.
"Thank you for coming Hermione.."
"You know I would. I'm not really surprised about your choice, if you want me to be honest with you."
"You're not?"- Harry asked
"Not really, Harry. You and Malfoy always had that.. tension.. weird connection that you and Ginny didn't. But I would like to hear it coming for you."- the brunette spoke.
"Well, it's.. weird.. seeing Malfoy go soft for someone.."
"Has he gone soft on you?"
"I mean maybe? I guess? He said something to me today that made me stay.. and yesterday when I left.. he has this weird power over my actions, Hermione do you think he cursed me? Because that's pretty possible knowing Malfoy"
Hermione laughed. "No, I don't think Malfoy cursed you. I think you're still processing your feelings for him, and even though you're not ready to accept that reality, you have some."
"He has for me.."
"That was obvious when he cut down the wedding."
"Speaking of that.. how are they? All of them? How much do they hate me?"
"Well, as your friend I'm going to be super honest with you. Ron is furious, I'm not sure if it iis because you left his sister or because it was for Malfoy. I'm more fond of the second option though because Ginny didn't make a big deal out of it."
"She didn't?"
"No, nor did Ms. Weasley. She was smiling during the whole thing and came to me after telling me not to leave you because knowing her son, he would not speak to you so soon. Of course I said yes, she truly cares about your happiness."
"But Ginny didn't care? At all?"
"Well of course she did, like you're sort of sad about leaving her too but I guess she knew it too. That it wasn't the right thing. I started to feel something was off when the yelling passed to a mental breakdown. I mean, every woman reacts differently to a wedding but she wasn't really.. in herself I mean, she didn't seem like she was about to do the right thing marrying you if this makes any sense."
"It does. It actually really does. I need to have a serious talk with Draco too. About this whole thing, like how much does he like me? Does he want something serious with me? Are we even a thing?"- Harry started to freak out.
"Slow down Harry, not even you are sure about what you feel so don't you dare pressure him. Just go with it."
"Alright, thanks Hermione."- and he left the bar, slowly walking back to Malfoy Manor wondering what it would feel like to be Draco's boyfriend.
He wondered if it would finally feel right. He knew he loved Ginny but not in a way you love someone, as in you're in love with them. But when he started to think about Draco, he started feeling things he couldn't quite describe even if he tried to. It wasn't the regular butterflies, it was the whole zoo all at once, every time he thought about that kiss that had felt so right but had the wrong timing along with it.
He arrived at the Malfoy Manor and noticed Draco wasn't there. Strange. He said he would be, but it was fine. Harry decided to take a nap, enjoying the sun touching his face while slowly fading away into the horizon.
Draco arrived home late, he didn't want Harry to know, but he had some trouble in his life he couldn't afford to let that escape to the world. He noticed as the boy napped in his garden and decided to lay on the grass by his side, just to relax a bit from his hard day.
"You smell good"- Harry said out of nowhere.
"Jesus, Potter, that's scary, I thought you were asleep."
"I have trouble sleeping actually. Ginny couldn't stand my yelling during the night so she moved out of the room."
That's not right, Draco thought, she should have stayed and helped you.
"Nightmares?"- Harry nodded.- "Me too."
"Are you serious?"
"As serious as I could be. You know maybe the Weasley girl didn't understand your problems because she was never a big part of them. But you and me, we had go through it for years."
"You act like you were on my side.."- Harry started to get angry again.
"When was I not on your side?"
