I found myself sitting on a bed waiting. Eleanor's bed to be exact. I didn't know how I managed to get here considering she was staying at a completely different hotel than us. I guessed I ran here looking for someone to talk to.
I sat facing her closet which she had failed to shut. I somehow got to thinking about her clothes. I admired her style. She didn't care about what others thought or about what 'What Not To Wear' article she would show up in. She just wore what she wanted to where.
I, however, couldn't do that. I know I put on this 'tough girl' side. And it looks like I just throw my outfits together. But truth is I spend hours on end figuring out what I should wear. I focus on what others are going to say about my clothes and how I look in them. I think about what ever single person is going to think instead of what I think. Like I said, I put on this 'tough girl' act but I just really want to fit in. I want people to like me.
I heard the hotel room door open and a shadow appear. I watched as Eleanor walked in placing her purse on the counter failing to notice me.
"My god!" she said jumping. She placed her hand over her heart. "I about had a heart attack. Where have you been?! Everyone is looking for you. They're worried sick!"
"I'm sorry. I-I just can't face them right now. I don't know what to do and Cassie won't answer her phone so I have no one to talk to and I don't want to talk the boys right now and I just-I'm so lost and I know I act like I don't care about anything and I do I care I have feelings too and just really needed someone so I ran here hoping to find you." I said in one breath tears flooding.
"Hey, hey" she said sitting next to me. "Breathe." she took a tissue sitting next to me to wipe my eyes.
I began to laugh. "Want to know what funny? This is the first time I've cried in 6 years." I paused. "I was bullied when I was little. They told me i dressed funny and i would never amount to anything. Finally one day i decided to stand up for myself. I stopped crying and stood up an punched the girl right in the face. Of course I got expelled due to our zero tolerance for bullying policy. Ironic huh?" I laughed. "But that day forward, I vowed i would never take crap from anyone. And i promised myself I would never cry for anyone or over anyone ever again. Now here I am letting tears fall more than a newborn baby."
"It's okay to cry sometimes. It's not a bad thing. It just shows we're human." Eleanor comforted me.
"What am I suppose to do? I feel like I'm hurting everyone I love." I admitted.
"Love?" she questioned referring to Niall.
"I don't know. I mean everythings moving so fast. I feel like ive known him for a lifetime but in reality it's only been four days." I said. "I don't make friends that fast, how could I ever think id be in a relationship that fast? It's ridiculous. Things like that only happen in story books."
"I mean, If you really like someone anything can happen. Sure it seems like you can't fall for someone in 4 days, but I mean It happens, right?" she questioned.
Was she right? I mean, it almost seemed impossible for that to be true.
"I dunno." a paused and thought for a minute. "I think it's just time for me to go home. I mean, I miss my brother and Cassie."
She raised her eyebrows questioning if that's what I really wanted to do.
"I just, I think it's time. I can buy a train ticket from my phone with my parents credit card, pay my parents back later while explaining why I needed a train ticket." I explained.
"Are you sure?" I didn't respond. "If you sure, I'll buy the ticket for you. Save you a bit of trouble from your parents."
"Really?" she nodded. "I can't ask you to do that Eleanor. It's too much."
"No, I want to help." she said.
"Thank you." I said.
About an hour later I was sitting in a car with Eleanor infront of a train station. I looked at her. We both got our of the car walking up to the ticket both.
"This is where we depart." She said handing me the ticket. "Your train should be here in 30 minutes or so."
"Thank you Eleanor. Thank you for everything. You've been absolutely amazing." I said hugging her.
"It's been a pleasure." she said smiling. "What will I tell the boys?"
I said nothing for a moment. "The truth." I said then handing her a envelope with Niall written across it.
"Goodbye Zoey." she said tearing up.
"Goodbye El." I said hugging her one last time before turning to walk inside the train station.
I sat on a bench waiting for the train to arrive listening to the musician sitting beside me sing for money.
"Your really good you know that?" I told him.
"Thanks." he said smiling. He looked to be 14 or 15.
"Zoey. I know. I have twitter." he said chuckling.
"Of course you do." I mumbled.
"I'm Brandon. If you don't mind me asking, why aren't you with your 'amazing' boyfriend." he said.
"Boyfriend? Yeah, no. I sort of rushed into something I'm not sure I was ready for." I explained.
"So your running away from it?"
"No." I said really fast. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I took it out and Niall read across the screen. I automatically pressed ignore.
"Do they know where your at?" he asking raising his eyebrows.
"No." I said after hesitating.
"So you are running away."
"I wouldn't call it running." I stated.
"What do you call it then?" he questioned.
"Disappearing. It's for the best. It'll cause a whole lot less drama then what's been started." I said.
"I think your running away." he stated. "You seem like the type of person who runs from her problems and feelings. No offense."
"I am not. I don't run from anything. I'm Zoey." I defended.
"Well, Zoey, Your train just pulled up and I don't exactly see anyone coming to stop your from leaving and I'm guessing that's what your waiting for. So it's up to you. Run or be the Zoey you say you are."
Brandon had got me to thinking. I felt the little angel and devil appear on my shoulder and a battle had begun. I had to think fast, the train wasn't going to be there for forever. I stood up making a decision hoping it would be the right one.
"It was nice meeting you Brandon." I smiled beginning to walk towards my choice.
