Part 1.1

~Agatha~

"That's what a three story fall to the deck? I give you a 1 in 3 chance of survival" Pope yelled to John B who was balancing on the roof top of some new kook house. Shaye was sat on the scaffolding beside JJ watching.

"Should I do it?" John B yelled back holding his beer.

"John B if you fall and break your neck I swear I'll kill you" Shaye yelled up to him.

JJ snorted and rested his elbow on her shoulder.  Shaye blocked out the rest of the conversation as she took JJ's hat and put it on her head. "It looks better on you anyway" He stated rolling his eyes playfully.

She just laughed back and continued watching the boys, before Kie walked in and said " They're gonna have Japanese toilets with towel warmers"

"Of course they are" JJ said "Why wouldn't they?"

"This used to be a turtle habitat, but who cares about the turtles, I guess" Kie said

Hopping off the scaffolding, Shaye threw her arm around Kie "We care about the turtles Kie, and if you want we can stage a protest in their honor?"

Kie laughed lightly and shook her head. "Can you please not kill yourself" she shouted at John B

JJ then also yelled "Don't spill that beer, I'm not giving you another one. "

Shaye laughed and less than a second later John B drops the beer off the roof. "Of course you did" JJ laughed "Like right when I told you not to"

That was when Pope looked over the railing and said "Hey uh security's here"

They all looked at each other and smirked. "Time to bounce boys" Shaye said as JJ started talking to the security guard. "Come on" She laughed grabbing his hand and pulling her with him.

They ran through the house and down the stairs trying to get away from him, yelling and laughing the whole way. JJ, Pope, and Her split off from the rest and took a right running straight into Gary. JJ skidded to a stop and pulled Shaye with him in another direction.

They kept running until another security guard ran in front of them and grabbed JJ. Shaye started running in another direction and heard him yell "Not much of a hugger man!" as he got out of the man's grip and caught up with her.

They ran until they reached a fence and JJ picked her up and put her over it before he climbed over it himself. Pope tried to climb over but fell on the way down.

"Get up Pope fatso's coming" JJ yelled as he grabbed Shaye's hand again

They ran and jumped into John B's van before he took off down the street. JJ leaned out the window and started yelling things at Gary, before tossing him a beer that he caught. Shaye continued laughing before grabbing JJ's arm and pulling him back inside "You're gonna give him a heart attack"

"Oh come on" he laughed "That sort of initiative is just begging to be punished" he said flicking her hat

She just rolled her eyes and lent on his side as they drove back to the cut. That was the thing about the two, they constantly flirt but nothing ever happens. It's just what they did. "So Shaye" John B started as they drove "How's the fam?"

Groaning she rubbed her hand across her face. "Just as snobby and pretentious as usual, except now all their disappointment isn't focused on me, but on my sister who wants to drop out of college and 'travel'" she said with air quotes.

Pope laughed "Well, Lily was their only hope at having a normal kid, so I can see why they are disappointed."

Shaye sat up from JJ's shoulder and smacked Pope on the head. Kie and JJ started laughing uncontrollably as Pope groaned and rubbed his head. Shaye just smirked and leaned back on JJ.

Soon they arrived at JB's house and piled out of the van.  They were all hanging out in the living room when Pope and JB started talking about surfing the surge. "No way" Shaye said "You guys could drown. Especially with how bad this hurricane is supposed to hit"

"Don't worry Shaye, we don't all drown when we surf" JB said laughing.

Shaye shot up from her seat and looked at JJ "You told them?"

JJ put his hands up in surrender "You never said not to"

Rolling her eyes she walked over to JJ and started trying to braid his hair. "Stop doing that you're gonna knot it" he said smacking her hand away

"Please" she said with big smile on her face. Everyone knew JJ was a fool for it, so he just sighed and leaned his head back as she picked up where she left off on it.

Soon after, JB and Pope left much to her dismay. But JJ stayed behind to keep her company since she was staying the night at John B's. So that's where they were. Chilling on JB's couch and talking about anything and everything.

"So" JJ started "How is life at home, really?" he said looking her in the eye. He was the only one who really knew how much her parents disliked the fact that she was hanging out with 'poor troublemakers' as they called the boys.

Shaye just shrugged and looked up at him. "The other night my mom was screaming at me for not going to a kook party and threatened disowning me" she snorted "little does she know that I would love it if she did"

JJ smiled lightly and wrapped his arms around her. "I've only met your mom once and I hope it was the last"

Snorting she snuggled into his chest and breathed in his scent of salt water and fresh grass from mowing lawns all day. Before she knew it, she was dozing off into a dreamless sleep.
