Dream had never liked having crushes. Especially with his experience in pining and unrequited feelings, he'd rather avoid the anxiety. He liked to make the first move and generally said how he felt first, leaving it up to the other person to go out with him or reject him. Dream usually knew how his romantic relationships would go, and it was comforting having that knowledge.
But he feels George is different. He's a boy and that's very out of Dream's comfort zone, his bisexual awakening is still very new and confusing. George is different also because he and Dream already have a bit of a flirty relationship - at least in their videos - and George is easily flustered by Dream. Dream always enjoyed teasing and flirting with George, but that was all before, knowing he didn't have feelings for George. Now flirting with George takes on a different, more important form. And now is the time to move the teasing into their normal dynamic.
George wakes up slowly, moving to sit up and stretch his arms and shoulders. Dream sits down next to him on the couch, a little bit closer than necessary. His arm is resting on the back of the couch and his knee is gently pressed against George's.
"Morning," George mumbles sleepily, hands rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
"Hi there George," Dream replies, brushing George's hair gently with his hand. "How're you feeling?"
"I'm alright, a bit jet-lagged."
"You want breakfast?"
"Yes!"
Dream gets to work quickly, making toast with jam and butter. George joins him in the kitchen and eats, thanking Dream quietly.
"So, you have any plans for today?" Dream asks, resting his head on his palm.
"Not really, I'm still not fully adjusted to Florida's time zone."
"Yeah, you wanna sleep more? Reset your internal clock?"
George frowns. "But I came here to hang out with you and Sapnap..."
Dream bumps George lightly with his shoulder.
"You can take a quick nap, George. I'll wake you up in a few hours."
George narrows his eyes. "You sure?"
"Yeah."
When George wakes up the second time, Dream is browsing Twitter on the couch, one hand scrolling through his feed and the other thrown over the back of the couch.
George rubs his eyes with his hand. "You said you'd wake me up, Dream."
Dream looks over and smiles fondly. "Sorry George, you looked too cute."
George blushes and looks away, opening a small silent pocket between the two of them.
"Anyway," Dream says eventually, "you feeling more energetic? Wanna make a video?"
"Yeah, you have ideas for a new video?"
"I do. C'mon, let's go work on it."
A/N - sorry for the delay! I didn't realize how long it's been since I've written and released anything. I'm gonna try and pull a Scott Cawthon and just mass-produce media for consumption lol
