Summer's POV

I woke up early as usual to prepare for work. Harper is still soundly asleep besides me, so I carefully get up from the bed and go to my room's bathroom to do my morning rutine and shower.

After I shower, I change into some clothes and go to the kitchen, where I find Harper still in shorts and a plain sleeping shirt making some breakfast. I stand besides her and give her a morning kiss.

"What are you cooking?" I ask her as I caress her hip, knowing she loves it.

"Some grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches and scrambled eggs."

I hum and kiss her, "Sounds delicious."

She purses her lips, "Yeah but if you keep distracting me they'll get burnt."

I giggle, "Sorry love I can't resist, I'll leave you to it now."

"Do I smell bacon!" Megan yells as she comes out of her room and walks to the kitchen. "Oh the brat is still here."

"This brat is the one making you breakfast, so if I were you I'll behave." Harper points the spatula towards her.

I interrupt before they can start fighting, "Okay, okay. Megan don't start, out of the kitchen, I'm hungry and don't want you two to burn the kitchen for a fight... again."

"It happened once and it was not my fault," Megan reasons.

"You wouldn't shut up!" Harper complains.

"That doesn't mean you have to burn the damn kitchen!"

"I did n-"

I cut off Harper before she could continue.

"That's enough, come Megan," I grab her and drag her out of the kitchen.

"You just love to annoy her don't you?" I say.

"What can I say, it gets me through the morning."

I laugh and shake my head at her answer.

We then sit on the couch and Megan starts to flip through the channels, while she does that my phone starts to ring.

"Your phones ringing," Megan points out the obvious.

"No shit sherlock."

I grab it and answer without seeing the id.

"Hello?"

"Hi sweetie." My mom greeted me.

"Hey mom! How is everyone?"

"I'm doing fine. Max misses you though. And you?"

"Awe I miss him too, I can't wait for the holidays to see you guys again. I'm doing fine. How's Jane?"

"She's fine, she is in the backyard trying to teach Milo to bring the ball, but all he does is hide it. It's really entertaining to see to be honest." She laughs a little at the end.

You see, my mom and Jane have been together for five years now. After two years of dating Jane finally proposed to my mom, and they got married that same year. They moved out of our old house and and bought a bigger one for all of us. A year later they decided to have a kid, since Jane didn't have one of her own and my mom loves kids so they agreed on having one; they used Jane's eggs and my mom's womb, they wanting both to be part of it, and nine months later she gave birth to my little brother Maxwell Mason-Prescott. My mom didn't want to give up her last name so she just hyphenated Jane's to her's. But if I'm being honest I think she just didn't want me to feel left out. Anyway my mom no longer works for Jane, obviously, she now owns a little business of wedding arrangements and that stuff. She finally found love and I couldn't be happier for her.

"If he didn't learn as a puppy I doubt he'll learn now." I say.

"You know Jane she won't give up. Honey, have you spoken to Brooklyn recently?"

"Uh, not since last week I think. Why?"

"Nothing just checking, it's been a couple of weeks since she last talked to us."

I hum.

"Maybe she's busy, you know handling a big company all by yourself can be a lot. But don't worry I'll call her later and tell her to call you guys."

Brooklyn how do I begin... these past five years haven't been really kind to her. First of all four years ago her parents tragically died in a car accident, that took a toll on her, she didn't deal with it good, I mean who would. Even if she didn't have a close relationship with them. That year she relapsed to her old ways but ten times worse and as I once told her I stood by her side, as did Jane and even my mom.

She went back to rehab, went to therapy and after a year she was fine, or so she said. She's been sober ever since, she sometimes has her moments of weakness and calls me when it happens, she says it helps the 'need' go away. Other than that Brooklyn is still Brooklyn, her flirty and reckless self, she's still single and as far as I know she hasn't been in a serious relationship since ours, but obviously has her flirts. We check up on each other every week, sometimes with a call or just a text.

We see each other whenever she comes here which is not very often since her parents house is here and doesn't like to see it, her company's main office is also here but she takes care of it from LA, or we see the other in the holidays at my mom's, the house is pretty big and when I said it was for all of us I meant it, Brooklyn and I have our own rooms there.

"Thanks sweetie," My mom said.

"Babe, breakfast!" I heard Harper calling from the kitchen.

"It's fine. Mom I got to go now, love you."

"Love you too. Tell Harper I say hi."

"Will do," I say and then hang up and went to the kitchen to eat.

"What took you so long?" Harper asks as I sit on the table with her and Megan, whose too busy orgasming over how good her sandwich tastes.

"My mom called, she wanted to know if I have talked with Brooklyn lately. Oh and she told me to tell you she said hi." I said and started to eat my sandwich.

She chuckled, "And have you talked to her?"

"Not since last week, but I'll call her later."

Harper nods and goes back to eating.

Harper knows Brooklyn and also knows everything that happened between us back in high school and after, well, almost everything. But that's a story for another time. Point is, she's very cool with her and so it's Brooke.

I see the time in my phone and my eyes widen. "Shit I'm going to be late," I get up from the table and leave the half of my sandwich on the plate. "Sorry babe I got to go."

"Are we meeting for lunch?" She asks.

"I don't know, but I'll call you and let you know," I peck her lips, "Love you, bye."

"Love you too," She responds.

"Aw, I love you too munchkin." Megan mocks.

I flip her off and walk out of the kitchen, I grab my things and get out of the apartment.

Well time to start the day.
