Andy:
"Mommy! Mommy!"
A small boy runs crying towards the arms of his mother. Pobrecito [Poor little boy]. That clown really scared him.
Fall is one my favorite seasons. Too bad it's not here yet. Hopefully these last days of August go by fast enough.
"Amanda, can you please hurry up?"
"Deja de quejarte, Andrea [Stop complaining, Andrea]." Amanda, my fifteen year old sister, rolls her eyes. "Shopping takes time. Besides, you are the one who needs to shop."
I scoff. "C'mon. We've been here for four hours. Not to mention, you're taking your precious time knowing how much I don't like it here."
"You know me like the palm of your hand, babe."
I glare at her. My voice lowers down a notch. Just a notch. "Amanda Torres. Do not test my patience when I'm inside a mall."
"Okay, okay." She lifts her hands up in surrender. "Geez, girl." Huffing, she turns around, making a dramatic hair flip and makes her way inside the store.
Unable to contain my smile, I yell after her. "We'll wait for you out here!" I take both of my brothers to the comfy chairs once again.
She's mad. I got her mad, but it's not my fault she takes too long. It took Agustín less than an hour, I helped Angel and it took us less than an hour, and it's taking Amanda four hours. It's already 4 PM and I still have to cook dinner!
"Andy, I'm tired." Angel, my five year old brother, pouts.
I kiss the top of his head. "I know. Lo siento, bébé [I'm sorry, baby]. Let's just wait for Amanda and we'll go back home. Okay?"
"Okay." He smiles, his eyelids closing.
"Can we go for ice cream, Andy? ¿Por favor [Please]?" Agustín, my ten year old brother, gives me puppy eyes.
Hmm. Maybe just for today. "Yeah. We can go for ice cream." I smile, kissing his forehead.
Ice cream before dinner won't hurt once in a while. Okay maybe it will, but it's only just this once...

Por fin [Finally]! We're on our way home eating ice cream. Well, not everyone. Sadly, I'm the driver. Angel got cookies 'n' cream, Agustín got cookies 'n' cream, and Amanda got cookies 'n' cream. I usually don't like for them to eat sweets or junk food before dinner, but it's been a long time since they've had ice cream. A very long time.
"The itsy bitsy spider went up the water spout..." I keep on singing with Angel, helping him get out of the van. I lock the car once everyone's safely inside our home sweet home.
Our home is a two-story house with five bedrooms and everything necessary to make it a house. Amanda and I have our own room, Angel and Agustín share one together, and one of the bedrooms is our parents' room. It's been empty for three months now.
"I'll be in my room!" Amanda runs up the stairs to her bedroom with her bags, snapping me back to reality.
"Andy, do you need help with anything?" Agustín asks.
I smile sheepishly. "Do you want to help me cook dinner?"
"Yeah! I just need to wash my hands."
"Great! Meet me in the kitchen?" He nods and leaves to the kitchen.
I look down at Angel. "Hello, my love." I crouch down to his level. "Want to help us with dinner, too?" I smile.
"Sí! Sí! Sí!" He jumps up and down, making my smile widen. When he stops, I lightly tap his nose, making him giggle.
