It had been that day that brought Ink and Error closer than they thought they could be. They didn't show it around many others, not wanting them to judge the two for choosing each other, but they still deeply cared for each other. The only ones that really knew were Dream and Blue and they had sworn themselves to secrecy about it. It wasn't anything big yet either. They hadn't wanted it to be until Error had completely healed. Though Error wanted to show Ink what he'd been working on. Error's injuries had healed, though he was going through physical therapy if only because Ink had wanted him to so he wouldn't hurt himself again. He figured that today was the day.
Error was just finishing the rainbow scarf he was making, after a therapy session. He looked up as Ink came into the living room, setting some snacks down for him and gently kissing his on the top of the head. Taking the chance, Error gently dropped the scarf around Ink's neck.
"Hey, Ink...?"
"Ya?"
"I wa-a-ant to show you som-something."
"What is it?"
Error stood, popping one of the snacks in his mouth and opening a portal. Ink properly wrapped the scarf around his neck and followed Error through, looking curious. It was ReaperTale and Error looked like he was leading him to Life's Garden. He hadn't been before and now he was definitely curious. Having dropped off the final vial just a day ago, Error was ready to give Ink the soul that they'd been making. Life paused and waved when she saw them. Error, feeling respect for her, as both a Goddess and the one to actually make the soul, gave a small bow, though she just laughed.
"There's no need for that, Dear. I assume this is the friend?"
Error nodded, "It's ready?"
Life nodded and took a rainbow soul from what seemed to be nowhere. Small drops of the painty substance it was made out of popped off and circled it a few times before going back to it, being replaced by different ones. Ink took in the soul.
"Error...?"
Error took the soul from her and turned to Ink with it, offering it to him.
"What's this...?"
"I... di-idn't want you-ou-ou to go the r-rest of your life usi-using paint to feel em-emotions... so I work-ked with Life to m-m-make you your ow-own..."
"I... Error... you..."
Error waited as Ink gently took the soul from him. He seemed to be getting used to the feeling of it before putting it in its place and tightly hugging Error. Hugging back, Error waited for Ink's response.
"You didn't need to do this..."
"I fel-elt I did..."
"Why...?"
"Beca-ca-cause I love you... so-o so much..."
"I love you too..."
"Should we be-be going back...?"
"Ya..."
They let go of each other and Error opened a portal, waving a thank you to Life and following Ink back into their house.
