I stood outside the room, contemplating whether to go in. She had stopped yelling. But for some reason, I prefered her yelling to her silence.
"Are you alright, Liam?" Zander asked me.
"Yes," I mumbled. But of course, I wasn't alright. I was far from alright. These feelings inside me... I had felt nothing like this before.
I turned the key in the knob.
I had to stop thinking so much and get what I wanted.
I opened the door and there she was, like a breath of fresh air. Her copper hair were strewn across the pillow and she was curled up in a fetal position.
"What are you doing here?" She murmured.
"I just wanted to see if you were alright."
"I'm fine,"
"Good,"
I wanted to hold her right at that moment. I wanted to know everything about her and I wanted her.
But I turned around and walked out.
I wanted to know who she was. I wanted to know why she was with Cody and what exactly did she want.
And I wanted to sort out my own feelings. I couldn't feel this way about her, she was nothing more than a rogue.
I went downstairs to Cody's cell. He was curled up in a fetal position but sat up straight as he saw me walk up to him.
"Liam, I need to talk to you about Anna!" He said with urgency in his voice.
"As if you care about her," I growled.
"I think she might be in trouble. You have to find her, okay?"
"We're looking for her which none of your business."
"I'm not messing with you, Liam. She really is in trouble!"
"Cut the crap, Silver," I said, "just answer me, okay?"
"I will tell you everything you want to know but only after you find Anna."
I unlocked his cell and walked in. Cody looked weaker than ever. I rolled my hand into a fist and punched him.
"You'll tell me now or-"
"I won't," Cody whispered. The guy was so weak, he couldn't even speak properly.
"You will if you want food," I said.
"I will only if you find Anna,"
I punched him again and he fell against the wall. He moaned in pain but he didn't relent.
I pulled him up by the collar, roughly, and growled.
"Find Anna and you'll know." Cody said.
I wanted to punch him again but Zander's voice floated into my head. He was contacting me through our mind link.
I need to talk to you, Zander said.
About what?
Come to the office.
I left Cody and walked upstairs to Max's office. Zander, Jesse and Paul were standing there. They had something between them, it was a body covered by a sheet.
"Is that Anna?" I whispered. My heart was beating faster in fear.
Zander shook his head.
I walked towards the corpse. I winced at the stale stench it was giving off. My hand shook as I reached up to remove the sheet.
