~Kaylee

Mustering up all my strength, I pushed Christian away and immediately ran up the stairs to my room, so many questions swarming through my head.

What was I doing? What was he doing? What were we about to do!?

OK maybe you’re overreacting Kaylee. Let’s just try and calm down.

Before I even had a chance, the door swung open and Christian walked in.

“You can’t keep barging into my room like that!” I glared at him.

“I knocked but you weren’t responding.” He said. “I just wanted to make sure you were ok.”

“Why wouldn’t I be?” I said sitting on my bed. “Just go.”

My face was flushed and I was too embarrassed to look at him.

“So I’ll take that as a yes I will be your partner “I turned to look at him.

“I said no” I replied.

“Why won’t you be?” He asked sighing.

“There’s nothing you can learn from my life, what’s the point?” I looked away again.

What could you possibly gain from the life of a broken girl with cancer?

“I’m sure that’s not true”

“And you don’t know shit about me so leave me alone”

“Exactly, I don’t know anything about you so let me know”

I hesitated for a second before turning to look at him.

“You really aren’t going to give up?” I asked.

“I believe you owe me a favour. I’m asking for a favour now, to be my partner. “

Groaning dramatically, I fell on my bed.

“Fine, don’t expect to get an A with me” I gave in.

“I was thinking about A plus” He winked at me and I rolled my eyes. “About what happened downstairs though…”

“Nothing happened!” I exclaimed quickly covering my face with my pillow.

“I’m sorry if I made you uncomfortable.” He removed the pillow from my face. “I just w-“

“It’s fine.” I cut him off shut not wanting to hear the rest of it. “The door’s that way, you can leave now.”

“We have a project to work on” He stated settling on my bed and I felt the urge to push him off.

I actually attempted to, stretching my leg, I tried to reach him but he was too far or maybe my legs were just short.

Either ways, I gave up trying and decided to let him stay. Partly because I knew he wouldn’t leave anyway if I tried to kick him out.

“You do all the work, I’ll be asleep if you need me” I took the pillow again and covered my face with it.

I was just getting comfy when my pillow was cruelly snatched from me, again!

“You really don’t need me for this project” I grumbled reaching out for another pillow but once again, it was snatched from me.

“Yes I do, if we’re writing an essay about life then I need to get to know about you more”

I sat up so I was facing him directly.

“Are you using this project as an excuse so I’ll talk about myself?"
