why does almost every fic that i've read my entire life have some sort of TRAGIC BACKSTORY™️ bullshit going on
like can y'all seriously not create an interesting character without having them have two dead parents
or have them be tragically bullied all there life because of said dead parents
bc i've fucking seen that shit
like it's totally alright to have a character with dead parents, hell, go for it. but don't have that shit be the only defining character trait. it's overused, dumb asf, and just overall super fucking lazy and stupid
if you want to have an interesting character, you need an actual unique personality that doesn't rely on the characters in your story having to unlock said TRAGIC BACKSTORY™️
