Getting Closer

Sakura was shocked. She was taken aback by his determination. The fire in his eyes. The fire that proves that he really wants this and is willing to work for it no matter what.

"I-I-I want to save people with a smile. With a smile that tells people that everything was going to be fine. Because I am here!"

Sakura softly gasped. She immediately thought of the moment when Toshinori came to save her from the darkness. With a smile telling her everything was going to be okay now.

Sakura couldn't help her mouth slightly tilt up. She walked over to Midoriya and extended her hand.

Midoriya looked up. He saw her smirking at him.

"I definitely underestimated you Izuku Midoriya. I like your confidence. It might make you seem stupid. But I like it."

Midoriya blushed. He didn't expect her to say that. He took her hand and she pulled him up.

"But still, you can't rush things like that now. Especially when your body just won't be able to handle it. But I understand your point. Wanting to work harder than others to become the best. I'll adjust your plan for you."

She walks over to the microwave and picks it up and puts it over her shoulder with one swift motion.

She looked at Midoriya with different eyes now. She now had some respect for this idiot. "Come on. After this run let's take a break yeah?"

She started to run ahead. Midoriya just stood there. His mouth wide open. How the hell was she so strong?

He couldn't help but smile and start to jog after her.

When they reached the beach park, they decided to take a break just as Sakura promised. When All Might saw how beaten up Midoriya was, he went to the store to buy them some hot steamed buns for nutrition.

Sakura reaches into her ice box and pulled out a protein shake.

While tossing it to Midoriya, "Here. I made this for you. It's supposed to help strengthen your muscles."

Midoriya caught it and looked at Sakura with his eyes gleaming. "Thank you so much Sakura-chan!"

As Midoriya drank his shake, he noticed how Sakura's hair was lightly blowing against her face. The sun shining right on her. She really was beautiful.

Midoriya thought this was the moment to get her know better before he lost his courage.

Midoriya stuttered, "Um Sakura-chan?"

Sakura was bending down to stretch but she hummed a response.

"What is your quirk exactly? We have been training for months but I have never seen you activate them," Midoriya asked. He was genuinely curious. He wondered what her quirk was since she was so good at all this training.

Sakura stopped at the position she was reaching for her toes. Slowly, she stood up and and ran one hand through her hair.

She knew this question was coming at some point. Honestly, she expected him to ask her earlier.

Sakura plopped down next to Midoriya. "I think you mean what are my quirks exactly" she responded with a monotone voice.

Midoriya tilted his head. "You have multiple quirks?"

"Mhm. I have four actually." Sakura didn't usually like to tell people about her situation but for some reason she trusted Midoriya.

"EH? FOUR?" Midoriya exclaimed. How the hell did she have four? He didn't even have one.
