Now don't get me wrong! I was not suddenly in love with Kristen nor did I develop a sudden interest in him.
Nope, what I meant is he was different. Since my parents died, my life had pretty much been monotonous. So I wasn't so against a little change in my life.
"Good morning Gatita" Kristen said as he pulled up in front of my house where I was waiting for him.
And in response, I rolled my eyes at him.
Oh were you expecting me to suddenly become a sweetheart to him? It's been two weeks and nothing has changed between us. He was still annoying as ever and I kept on planning murder attempts in my head.
Change was good.
I stood up as he got out of his car to open the door for me.
Giving him a sarcastic smile, I shut the door and opened it again for myself.
"I have hands you know" I said getting in as I shut the door close.
"I know but what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't." He said getting in the car.
"And since when did you become my boyfriend?" I asked raising an eyebrow at him as he drove off.
"We've been going to school together and back, that sounds like boyfriend duties to me" He beamed at me.
Remind me again why I decided not to choose the bus?
"Sounds like daddy duties to me." I muttered.
"I can be both" He said winking at me and I rolled my eyes in return.
"Just shut up and drive."
"I'm already doing that."
"But you forgot the shut up part." I added.
"Yes ma'am" He said with a mocking salute.
What part of shut up did he not understand? The rest of the ride was pretty much silent thankfully till the car finally came to a stop.
"I guess I'll see you around Gatita" He said as I came down and shut the door.
"I hope not." I said before walking towards the school building.
Apparently I hadn't hoped hard enough because currently, in a span of just thirty minutes, Kristen had managed to kick my chair, pass me notes and whisper dumb things in my ear.
Just a few minutes left, don't kill him yet. Wait till we're both alone after school, then no one would know it was you.
And finally, my saviour arrived. Which was actually just the school bell ringing meaning school was over for today.
"Before you go, I'm giving you all a project" our English teacher announced. "I want you all to write a composition on life. Think about your past experiences, your present, and future. Anything you want at all, let your creativity run wild."
"You're free to choose your partners or you can do it solo. To be submitted on the last week of school. You have a whole session to work on this and your final grade depends on it so make sure you give it your best and let your creativity run wild, the best essay will be presented on graduation. Class dismissed" She said and I got up.
I picked my bag up about to leave but not before glancing at Kristen. He was already surrounded by people, mostly girls, wanting to be his partner.
I just turned and left. I'd do the project on my own, at least it's not like other classes where I was forced into groups or getting partnered up with random people.
