After a while, Error stood, opening a portal back to his antivoid. He stepped through and was kind of surprised to see Reaper standing there again, waiting for him.
"What-at-at do you wa-ant?"
"I may not be able to help you, but I know another who can."
"And y-you expect me-e-e to convince them?"
"You'll not need to convince them. They're always willing to help. It's me you have to convince in order for me to bring you to them."
"What wou-ould you want in tur-rn for brin-ging me to-o-o them?"
"I want Geno."
"Well-ll, I'm not Ge-Ge-Geno."
"I know. I haven't been able to find him. Not in any form other than being you or going to be you."
Error sighed, "You-ou want me to f-f-find Geno-o for you?"
"I'll bring you to the one who can help if you do."
"Fine."
"Great! I'll be waiting."
"Of cou-ourse you will."
Reaper went back to ReaperTale as Error opened a portal to a version of AfterTale. He knew Reaper wouldn't like it, but it was the only version where Geno didn't become Error. He sighed, thinking about whether or not Reaper would still help him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
He had been thinking for about an hour, base on this AfterTale's time, before he opened a portal to ReaperTale, going to finding Reaper. Reaper was sitting under a dead tree, waiting for Error. Error cleared his throat as he approached, making Reaper look up at him.
"Did you find him?"
"Yes. You pr-pr-probably won't lik-ke it, but it's the only-ly one where he doe-oesn't become m-e-e-e."
Reaper's "eyebrows" furrowed as Error opened a portal to the AfterTale and led him through, to the save screen Geno would've been trapped in. Error stood at the edge of the patch of flowers, watching Reaper approach the cross gravestone with a red scarf wrapped around it, gently blowing in whatever wind there was.
"He's..."
"De-ead... I know... an-n-nd I'm sorry yo-yo-you had to find ou-out this way-ay-ay..."
Reaper was silent as he knelt and stared at it. Error continued to wait, giving him his peace.
"There's... no way to bring him back...?" Reaper turned to look at Error, who shook his head.
"Not ev-ev-even Ink can do-do anyth-th-thing about it-t..."
"So... then what do I do...?"
"Mak-ak-ake you're peace-ce, Reaper... it's the on-on-only thing you can-n do..."
Reaper nodded and the two went silent again. After a few more seconds, Error turned and opened a portal to his antivoid. He'd check in a bit to see if Reaper would still help.
