(A/N): I don't usually put my notes at the top of the story, they're usually reserved for the bottom, but, I thought it would be important because I'm here to inform you that this prologue... is LONG, so I'm going to make sure you guys and gals get the breaks you wish for such a long chapter... I'll split the prologue into five parts in one page so you know when to take a break. Every time a break is needed, you'll see the words: part 2/3/4/5, and that'll be your cue to take the break and come back to read after you've rested. And I mean, it's no doubt going to be the longest page I've ever written on Wattpad. There, warning over, let's get to the story!
Part 1
(3rd Person)
The great winds of the world blew harshly on the house below, a single house that lived in the mountains high above anything else. Normal occupants of this mountain wouldn't dare to travel this far up thanks to the thin air it lives in, normal people would suffocate the moment they arrived at the top... however, these people have been living in these harsh conditions for a while. The family consisted of a mother, a father and two sons. One at the age of twelve and the other eight. Currently, each member of the family was in a different location: the mother was washing a number of clothes in the washbasin inside, the father in his bedroom carving what seemed to be wooden sculptures while the two children were outside. The elder sighed, holding an axe over his shoulder while the younger looked at him with a curious expression.
(Y/N): So... we need to get wood for Mama and Papa?
Daisuke: Father is carving wood sculptures, and as you know, that's how we get the money we need... meanwhile mother's busy washing our clothes, so, it's up to us. I'll cut down the trees, you can carry the wood I cut up. You can see it as strength training as well.
(Y/N): But why do I need strength training? You're strong enough to protect us, Papa as well!
Daisuke: As strong as we are, we can't protect Mother if it's just us two, Father is old, he's growing weaker every day while I'm going to leave home one day. If I want to leave home, I want to at least make sure you're strong enough to look after our family when I do.
The younger sibling nodded, a small smile on his face as Daisuke smiled before holding out his hand. (Y/N) took the hand instantly and the two went to walk off, but not before Daisuke called out they were leaving. This was met with their mother calling back, wishing them luck and demanding Daisuke protect (Y/N) no matter what happens. Daisuke smiled while shaking his head, even without his mother's demand, he would've done so anyway. To combat the cold, both wore huge jackets made from the skin of boars their father killed to gain both meat and clothing while also making sure their feet and hands were covered by their sleeves and socks.
As the two travelled down the mountain, (Y/N) looked up at the sky, seeing the massive orb of brightness and warmth baring down on them, he groaned, covering his eyes with his arm.
(Y/N): Daisuke, could you hit that big ball in the sky? It's trying to burn my eyes!
Daisuke: Big ball? Oh, you mean the sun?
(Y/N): Sun? Isn't that what Papa calls us?
Daisuke: Hahaha! No, no, that's a son, with an o in it. It's what he calls us because that's what we are, we're his sons. Whereas that up there, is the sun with a u, it's the thing helps keep us warm when we aren't near a fire. I'm afraid I can't put the sun out though, otherwise we would be cold forever.
(Y/N): Oh... but what about that big white ball in the sky at night? Is that the sun's brother?
Daisuke: Not really, that's the moon, and that's there to help us see in the dark.
