Blaire watches from her window as Ellie jogs past the house. The Elf's platinum hair, pulled into its usual bun on top of her head, bounces cutely with each step. The sun shines bright off her hair and the gold rings that line her ears.

Blaire closes her eyes once Ellie is out of sight. She breathes in the scent of her tea and consciously forces her muscles to relax.

Orion whines from where he sits next to her. His tail thumps when Blaire looks at him. Time to let the dog out.

As she is hooking Orion up to his run, she decides she should check on Zachary. The teen had been shaken last night.

Opening the basement door, she peers down into the darkness.

It's silent.

Blaire flicks on the lights and descends. She winces as her knee pops on the first step down. She hates going down to the basement.

At the bottom, she turns to the entertainment area. There's a pile of blankets at the end of the sofa. As she gets closer, she can see the up and down of calm breathing.

She leaves him to sleep.
